Commodore 1942 some help please
« on: April 13, 2007, 06:59:32 PM »
Hi all,

Just got an Commodore 1942 monitor in great condition.

I want to know what is the best resolution to use it in.
I don't have a graphics card.
I know there is a trade off for speed, at higher res, but what do you guys think would be the best monitor dev to use?

My miggy specs are A1200, Apollo 1240 @ 40mhz, 32mb RAM, 3.1 ROMS, 4 Gig HD, and I have not decided what OS to use yet, I have 3.1, 3.5 and 3.9, to install, as this is a fresh install.

Thanks in advance!  :-)

You can use whatever native mode you want except Super72, but speed really has nothing to do with the monitor. You'll find best performance in NTSC/PAL/Euro36.

Assuming you do one day get a graphics card, the 1942 can't handle much beyond 800x600.

There are som modified versions of Super72 that works fine.
I'm using one right now.

I don't know how to post (if possible) files in this forum.
But if you PM me with your e-mail I can send those files to you.

It is somewhat limited.
You can show 800X600 resolution W interlace
or you can show 800X300 w.o. lace...

I had one modified for 800X600 w.o. lace...

But dont know where it is anymore...
