Title: Local Distributor Lists
Post by: newbee on November 02, 2002, 07:00:06 AM
Team

It's great the Eyetech are now shipping the AmigaOne.

I personally would prefer to channel my order through a local company though (better for after sale support etc).

I have not seen a current list of distributers by country by region.

If Eyetech will not publish a list of local distributer perhaps we (the community) should all contact our local "Amiga Friendly" outlets and ASK them to become distributors.

We should then create a list of companies which others can then use to purchase. (Big savings in freight and the additonal components like video cards, memory and disks etc can be added by the local store cheaper than freighting in a complete unit for England).

That way the prices are in "local $" and we can have improved after sales support and "add ons".

I was thinking something along these lines:

Country.......... Region.......... Local distributor anme and address

Australia.......... SA.......... Smiling Sams Amiga store, 1 Shop Place, Adelaide SA 8360XXX

Australia.......... WA.......... Smiling Sids Amiga store, 1 Shop Place, Perth WA 8360XXX

What do you think, Is this forum a good place to build this list ?????

Hi Darren,

There's a list of dealers at
http://os.amiga.com/dealers/index.php (http://os.amiga.com/dealers/index.php)
but some entries may not be current.

AnythingAmiga (http://www.anythingamiga.com/) (NSW) is revamping their site and will be taking orders once it's back up tonight.

AmigaInnovations (http://www.amigainnovations.com/)(WA) looks like they may also sell the AmigaOne.

Cheers,
Fotios

@Fot

Thank you

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for (I feel such a dope for not finding it myself).

I will contact Gsoft:
Quote
Gsoft Computer PTY Ltd  Australia  2 Anderson Walk  Smithfield  South Australia  5114

If they still are distributers (You have to check that companies haven't simply given up) they are "walking distance" of my home and will get a confirmed order for an AmigaOne shortly :-)

Viva la Amiga

Regards
Darren

Doug at AnythingAmiga is revamping his site and should have it up tonight (Oz time). He already has my order (he's in Port Macquarie).

I am extra happy.

A local shop "Gsoft" who used to be BIG in the Australian Amiga Market have decided that they will become distributers again :-) :-) :-)

It is great becouse it means that I have a local supplier and someone who is sympathetic when it comes to the "Accessories" required.

Contact:
Steve @ GSOFT
Address: Shop 4/2 Anderson Walk, Smithfield South Australia
Phone: 61 08 8284 1266
Fax: 61 08 8284 0922
Email: gsoft@gs.com.au
Web: www.gs.com.au

Now if enough of us contact local vendors we can breath new life back into this market

Regards
Darren

P.S. The only pain I am suffering now is deciding what I need to leave out.... So much to get...so little cash...  :-)
