LibreOffice for AmigaOS
« on: October 28, 2017, 04:05:07 PM »
I apologize if this has been brought up before, but what is the status of LibreOffice?

It would be nice to have an all inclusive software suite that is compatible with the main stream office software.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It would be nice for an elaboration. Like:

Writer - XX% complete - Fonts are working, Style is working, Formatting is working, Dictionary is having issues identifying misspellings
Calc - XX% complete -
and so on, and so on.

The fact that there is a "beta" team suggests that its feature complete, and that  they are ironing out bugs . Thats what "Beta" means .

Or they have a different definition of feature complete. Maybe it is unusable, but all the LibreOffice code is compiled in.

Does anyone know of a status for this project? It would be nice to have a good and modern word processor for AmigaOS. I'm hoping for news or even a release at AmiWest this year.
AmigaOS enthusiast since 1993.

Those of us who know have signed NDAs and therefore can't say.

Just for historical interest, it was mentioned in 2010 under a different name:

the AmigaOS looks terrific, and ports of FireFox and OpenOffice are close to bearing fruit.

At Amiwest 2016, Trevor said betatesting was about to start. Another annuncement, a few months later, said that betatesting had now started - (IIRC) a screenshot was released aswell.

It wasn't mentioned at all during Trevor's Amiwest 2017 presentation.
