I wonder if there are PPC Mac elitists sneering at those who bought the heathen Intel Mac's.

What does this have to do with PPC vs X86? It's a software issue.

Snow Leopard doesn't run on PowerPC hardware.

I know it doesn't, but that's beside the point. No where in this article is it indicative that just because Snow Leopard runs on x86 only, did this flaw/bug occur. If Snow Leopard were created for PPC only for instance, and the same issue happened, would that justify making a statment that x86 is the way to go. No.

No, it's not beside the point. This bug only happens in Snow Leopard, which only runs on x86. MorphOS only runs PPC. So you can thank god for MorphOS but if you own a Mac that is vurnable to this bug, MorphOS won't save you at all.

It will if you never boot into OS X and try running as a guest and returning back to your old account...

i.e. Stick to MorphOS.

@tonyyeb

Err, no. Because this bug only happens on Snow Leopard, which in turn only runs on x86, MorphOS won't save you. Why? Because MorphOS doesn't run on x86. So you can't run Snow Leopard and MorphOS on the same machine.

But if you really want to praise MOS some more, I'll give you an argument that sticks. This SL bug has to do with user management, which MOS doesn't have. So this could never happen to MOS.

Oops! Silly me, misread your earlier post. Yes you are correct... I should have said Mac users should have stuck to PPC. Then they could enjoy MorphOS and OS X and not be faced with this very silly but devastating bug.

Yeah, this is a very silly bug and seriously bad when it happens to you! But it seems to only happen under very specific circumstances (IIRC upgrade 10.5.x to SL and then do the login order you descibed).

It was only supposed to be a light hearted comment about fanboyism.  I thought the words 'elitists' and 'sneering' might have given it away.

Yep, I understand after re-reading the thread from the beginning. My apologies for jumping the gun so rashly. :-)

Upgrade installs are retarded to begin with.  This bug just drives that point home.
