Post by: alexh on March 31, 2008, 05:24:06 PM
I suggest an automatic ban on anyone posting April fools jokes tomorrow ;-)

No to OS4 released for MacMini.
No to NatAMI goes on sale.
No to Amiga Inc. pays hockey arena sponsorship money.

What if, by coincidence, all of those things actually happen tomorrow?

You misery..........

Well for tomorrow......

Hi all, I just made a PCB board that when fitted over the CPU it makes the 1200 run at 84Mhz.
The board consists of 4 chips one is a motorola C5666KAE-L (new design)
This does two things firstly it makes the Amiga CPU triple rate cycles. and both the give 84Mhz.

Secondly it uses a SAM super accelerated mode. By a software switch on the keyboard be pressing Left Alt and the F8 key.
What does it do? well it over rides the graphics and gives a changeable output mode in other words you can choose from 15Khz up to 90 Khz.

The board will cost approx £60.00.

And fitting instructions are of course given, the PCB itself is 2.2" by 3.00"
And fits neatly over the CPU.

It can go with any Amiga accelerator and say for example the accelerator is 50Mhx then you can triple that to 300Mhz
If 14 Mhz then you get of course 84Mhz

The main motorola CPU is very cool and uses 1.3 volts. no heatsink needed.

I have another board being made that will give 32 meg of Chip ram on any Amiga.
The board itself is very easy to make and install.

The first will go on full production on the 01/04/2008
I have 9 in stock so far.

Mike.

@Karlos
If it makes you feel any better, my other half had root canal and he said it was totally painless, both during and after. It was bloody expensive though...

Yes that was a bad joke, and you are therefore fined £260.00
You must give the money to me.

The procedure can't possibly be any more painful than the tooth/jaw has been over the last ten days, that's for sure. Even when I managed to ignore it enough to sleep for a few hours, I dreamed I had toothache

The hypno-toad couldn't make you forget it then? :-D
I've been lucky in that the worst I had done recently was an impacted wisdom tooth removing but so far the dentist hasn't proven as painful and as frightening as I remember it being as a child! They either must be getting better or i'm going numb in old (well ok 28, not really old!) age!

Hope it goes well for you tomorrow.

Andy

Tripling 50MHz or 14 MHz... on my calculator it says:
50*3=150
14*3=42
Where do you get the figures 300 and 84?

He of course means doubly tripled clock speed of the accelerator. :-P

I also have one of these devices that I whipped up in the back shed yesterday. It's sitting right next to my hens teeth collection and rocking horse wheels.

while probably not original, i got a laugh out of it today... (i'm not clever enuff to come up with my own stuff)

the cracked flatscreen picture. set as desktop background, hide toolbar and icons, done!
or set as screen saver, set timer for 1 minute. retire to safe distance, be ready to collect free "faulty screen" :-D

Try this one... works well at work on most IT flunkies... take a screen grab of your normal desktop (workbench), then load it up as your wallpaper, hide all the icons, then call the IT guy a say "I click but nothing happens!".
