ADescent on Picasso96 - illegal instruction
« on: February 23, 2010, 05:18:39 PM »
Hi,
I'm trying to run ADescent on my Amiga 4000D. It works fine in AGA mode, but I would like it to utilize the Voodoo3 in Mediator 4000Di. When the game starts it asks me to choose the screenmodes for 320x200, 320x400, 640x480 and 800x600. I have all of them set (8bit) and they work ok as tested in the Picasso96 configuration utility, but when I choose them in the ADescent requester it crashes after the last one. It returns:

Going into graphics mode....illegal instruction
Closing graphic subsystem
etc.

It's the first game I tried running in the RTG mode so I don't know if I have everything configured correctly. I normally use the Voodoo3 for WB, I have RTGMaster and the required libraried installed and, as I said, it works in AGA mode.
What might be the problem?

What about AHI? Which version do you have; ADescent works only with 4.x IIRC.

I don't know the exact version I have, but considering that it works with sound in AGA mode I don't think that's the problem.

What about the 0.7 version of ADescent, which has been uploaded into Aminet as some problems rose with 0.8. And your RTGMaster version may have some influence, too.
