Anyone had any dealings with Software Hut in Exton, PA USA?
The website had a last updated date of 9-16-06 so I am hesitant about ordering from there.
-
I've dealt with them lots! They are great! Just make sure you call them or email them first to see if they have what you want in stock. The web site is wayyyyyyyyyyy out of date. Just send them an email and they will get back to you. You can pay them with paypal if you like so everything is fast and painless.

Did you clear your browser cache before visiting? ....Kidding... "Site last modified: 10/20/07 "
I've bought from them a couple of times with no problem at all.

Just got a AOS 3.9 CD and Roms from them, plus, when I emailed asking about a couple of other items, got a response the next day.
-
100% recommended ONLY if you email BEFORE ordering.
-
I think they are reputable as I have dealt with them before. They aren't like the other places. One place took my monitor and never fixed it and the other place use to just swap people's computers that they were fixing so you thought your problem was fixed and you just got someone else's problem.
-
Great. It seems they are ok.
I did clear my cache but still got a last updated
from 06. Oh well, as long as they have what I need.
I will email them before I order anything.
Thanks
-
As AMC has stated, just email them before you make a purchase. I found that they respond quickly to email inquires and are a pleasure to deal with.
-
I dealt with them alot in the past and they were great.
I would call or email like everyone sugested :-D :-D
-
Seriously, all joking aside I've heard good things about them too :)

Wow! Did anyone bother to click Eclipse's link? It takes you to the "Hardware Hut"... Probably get a good deal on 512MB Ram Set!

Software Hut is a family run business, that is as honest as you can find. They are great people.
I miss the cook outs they used to have.
-
Softwarehut does well :-) just make sure you email to confirm stock, and price, or even just say "hello" and all is well
-
Hey -- their site was just updated TODAY!
When I was an Amiga user (I miss those days, but I love my new MacBook!), I used them almost exclusively....always great to deal with. I even went over to their place a couple of times when they were in West Chester....seriously, their warehouse was an Amiga-lover's dream...
-
I've bought from them in the past with no problems. Bought an Quikpak 060 accelerator for my A4000T a few years ago. Web page might not be up to date though. I just emailed them and asked questions before ordering.
-
I tried to buy an A4000T case from them today; alas, he can't get them anymore. But he told me he has boxed new old stock A4000Ts for $1069 and up. I'd buy one now if I had the dough and hadn't just bought a motherboard off of fleabay. Btw, if anyone knows where I can get a case that an A4000T mb will fit in, please let me know.
-
$1,069 for an A4000T w/6mb RAM and an 040 I bet. Too steep for my blood, but it would be nice to have a nice shiny new A4000T.
I wonder how long they will keep them at that price and how many they have, 1, 2, half dozen? No more than that I would think.

Just a recent experience to share with Software Hut. They have apparently sold out all of their classic Amiga game software, but just haven't removed the listings yet. All that they have left game wise are some newer titles on CD-Rom. They are good at responding to e-mails, but sadly there just isn't much left worth inquiring about.

What items are you looking for?
We have a lot of software (4x shelf-racks worth) that hasn't yet been added to our webstore. So much to do, so little time...
-
I have ordered from them many, many times..and I still have all the
reciepts..You should not have any worries..just call or email to confim
stock/prices as others have suggested.
Very nice people to do business with.. I hope to again soon.

Can someone tell me what's going on with Software Hut's (http://www.softhut.com) web site? It appears to be down.
-
Looks like they've setup a new website :-D
-
I still can not get to it.
:-?
-
I can't get to their site either.
Hmm...
I can ping them, but can't connect to port 80. :(

From Software Hut's website,
Greetings
i
The site you are looking for should be up yet today. Due to a transformer fire and explosion at our colocation facility in Houston Texas, The Planet, our server was damaged. 9000 servers were knocked off line for varying lengths of time. Among other components, our hard drive was ruined when a backup generator was installed and it malfunctioned. Along with the hard drie, a new version of the OS was installed. We are recompiling and updating the software packages to match the new OS. Thanks for you patience.
-
I'll add my experience just for reference -
Software Hut is a reliable vendor but you have to email them to see what they have. They don't spend time updating the site as I'm sure the Amiga business is a side line for them.
My ROMS and OS 3.9 came in quickly and when the ROMs ended up being the same one, they quickly sent me out the correct rom to pair with one of them.
AmigaKit is definetely the more active organization but in the US shipping times are a lot quicker from Software Hut.

Our new webstore will be launched in the next few weeks:
http://www.amigakit.us
amigakit.us is a dedicated webstore for all US Amiga users.
-
ANOTHER FIRE?
I was in thePlanet's colo facility when the last fire happened.
I have since moved to another in Freemont,CA
-
I've ordered twice from Joe, and he was very fast and communicative also. The products of course in excellent condition. Anyway because of the fire, I didn't get an email reply from him. But to tell the truth the most active Amiga-shop is AmigaKit. Just keep up the great work you are doing there. ;-)

Hmmm...interesting.
Will products ship from inside the USA? or will it still have to come from oversees?

Software Hut may well be the only business on the planet where GVP SIMMs can be purchased! They only have 4Mb SIMMs, but if you have an empty GVP accelerator, they look great!
I dealt with Software for about 20 years - and have always been treated well.
