Rep points
« on: May 25, 2009, 05:58:54 PM »
I haven't filed this in Projects as it might just be a misunderstanding. On the User CP panel on the home page, my rep points are shown as 11. But if I actually go in to my profile, it says 27. Also, how do I find out how many rep points another user has?
Code: [Select]
10  IT\'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
20  FOR C = 1 TO 2
30     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA
40     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAAA
50  NEXT C
60  NA-NA-NAAAA
70  NA-NA NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA NAAA-NAAAAAAAAAAA
80  GOTO 10

Rep points and rep power are two different things.

The rep power influences how much of a difference your repping makes to others. i.e how many rep points they get from you

Rep power is based an a few different criteria such as post count, current rep points etc..

See here for another explanation: http://forums.liveleak.com/showthread.php?p=9568

on other boards this is desplayed by having two numbers next to each other

like:

1 :  300

power is the 1st number, your own points that you have accumulated is the second

in other words when that 1 : 300 person gives someone a good 'rep' they give whomever ONE rep.

if their numbers looked like this:
3 : 4000
they could give 3 reps
the no CARB diet- no Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld or Bush.

I don't think that feature is enabled. Is it really needed?

If you mouse over the little green square under the users post count, it will give you an idea where that person stands, I imagine as time goes by, you will get more green sqaures (or red squares) as your rep builds (or dies).

It's not needed, but it seems a bit pointless to have a system of rep points if you can't see how many people have, firstly to put your own in context, and secondly to see how reputable the community considers a particular user to be.
Code: [Select]
10  IT\'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
20  FOR C = 1 TO 2
30     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA
40     DA-NA-NAAAA-NAAAA DA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAAA
50  NEXT C
60  NA-NA-NAAAA
70  NA-NA NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAAA NAAA-NAAAAAAAAAAA
80  GOTO 10

Now that you understand the way it works it might be an idea to open a feature request then. ;)

Agree that Amiga-themed comments should prevail. This distinguishes us from the flood of other boards.

At least one of them (Guru Meditator) is already Amiga-themed :)
