It asks what is "X" and calls it "Aeon."

No it doesn't. I asks the quesiton "What is X", but so far it hasn't answered it. The answer will be revealed soon.

So it would appear that X is coming to OS 4.1, which may be how Netscape and Apache are coming, Hyperion are porting X, great move, it should provide a lot of open source software quickly.  Evolution, Open Office, the GIMP, Apache, maybe even MySQL all at once rather than one at a time.  It would be a brilliant move.

There already is an X server for AmigaOS 4.x, and it is certainly not how we ported Timberwolf. I pointed out repeatedly (although probably no one listened at that time) that Gecko doesn't need much infrastructure in terms of "GUI Toolkit". It can render everything by itself (which it does, in fact), and it runs on plain intuition Windows.

For Apache and MySQL, no X is required.

For OpenOffice, I'd rather have a native port. GIMP would require GTK, but even that can be ported without X, and would indeed open up quite a number of possibilities.

But X is not X11. The logo looks different. It's also not x86, X is an upper case letter.
Look out, I\'ve got a gun

Hmmm... interesting document. Definitely hardware. But, if it ain't x86, then it'd better be Xbox or PS3, 'cause, I doubt they're gonna sell too many of them otherwise.

But we will wait, and we will see... :)

I find it kind of amusing that that this document lists Trevor, Anthony and Ben's birthdays... is this normal for Belgian law? Or is it a European thing?

Hmmm... Ex Box... or am I thinking blasphemy here? :)

Who cares. Cheap supportable hardware or bust!

Probably bust...

Oeerr you might be onto something there......that would be cool 3 cores and fan noise. At least mine hasn't had the red ring of death yet and by golly there is a lot of em about.

I'd join Xbox live for that............Forget Assassins Creed 2....give me a proper joystick and Another World!, Lemmings.....me would be a happy bunny.

No we dare not dream. x86 has been ruled out many times by the Frieden brothers. It will probably be ppc based.
My guess is an STB.

So the X is just a clever ruse to deceive us?

Almost 42,000 views and counting, that's damn impressive. It would be nice for a story to get that many views on Amiga.org.
