Seriously though, the scrolling code does more than just scroll. Ive set up a timer of sorts that gives me 16 "slots" (per pixel) to draw new tiles, control interrupts, update onscreen score display (not implemented yet), and check for collisions. This way I can spread the load evenly. So even though its "just scrolling", its also doing other things.
As for the game itself, its a standard cutesie platformer, but inspired by the master system and megadrive Mickey Mouse games more than anything. The Giana Sister/Mario Bros. style tiles in the screenshot are actually moving platforms.
