SOFTWARE HUT is cool too!
« on: November 30, 2006, 12:40:03 AM »
While they seem pretty laid back and quiet, not like Amigakit, they do good work too.

I've gotten ZIP memory, an accelerator, and a nice CGX64/3D card from them, well packaged, and arriving at a decent time. They answer questions fairly promptly too, even during a holiday!

So heres to SH, and Amigakit! We're lucky to have retailers that can tough it out in as dificult a market as ours.   :-)

Yes, Software Hut gets a nod from this satisfied customer too. I just treated my eBay win, an Amiga 4000D, to a new set of Kickstart chips, an OS3.9 installation and a Cybervision 64/3D, all from Software Hut.

I expect Amigakit will be getting some orders from me, as well, as I deck out my new-to-me old girl.

Don't forget Vesalia! Another good Amiga dealer. Again, not as vocal as AmigaKit, but still good!

Hi Ali, why not start a Vesalia thread? If you get something for your Ami, tell people how it went. Good service? Decent communication? Product arrived in good shape?

@Amiduffer

I agree.  I've used both SH and Amigakit and both companies seem to go above and beyond what you expect from an online retailer.  We're lucky to have two such companies left in this ever shrinking market.

PS.  Thanks for that info on the Buster chips on that other thread.  I've been on holiday in Australia for the last 2 weeks and only just read your post.

Not if there are more threads about SoftHut and Amigakit.
Despite I only ordered once at Vesalia, I really can recommend it.

Some prices at Software Hut are just ridiculous and most parts of their website weren't updated for years. Amithlon on a 1.3 Ghz PC for $799.95 anyone? Nah, I'd rather get the "Amiga SDK computer" with a whopping "AMD K6-11 3D 500Mhz" for only $999. ;-)

What ever happened to the "Next Generation Amiga" that they announced some months ago?  ;-)

A Big negative from me on Vesalia!!!!  They cancelled an order of mine because I posted a question on here on how how long it might take to get the part, and their timeliness on responging to emails (there was talk at the time that they are slow in that dept)  VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and uncalled for!!  (Maybe this is normal in Germany?)

Is it feasible to order from Vesalia in North America? I would think the shipping from Germany would cost more than the item itself.

Yes absolutely. Ordered from Software Hut twice and got quick response and quick delivery. Very satisfied with them as well.
