Was a great device, actually better than the ipod. But ppl are blinded by anything Apple, a shame as my Sony MP3 player has more options and better sound.

Yeah iPod, especially the pre iPod Touch had awful sound quality so only a tone deaf fashionista fool would buy it....but then fools bought Win 95/98/ME/VISTA/7 in droves believing it was all 'cutting edge' 'best available' so really I can neither feel sorry for Apple's pathetic OSX infiltration into desktop market or Microsoft's failed infiltration into the MP3 player market :)

If they both went bust overnight and a few other co

Funny, I hear Sony have improved recently, but the last time I used one of their MP3 Walkmans (a sleek, little rounded black type thing) I needed their proprietary software on my PC. And I know the iPod needs it too, but make no mistake, Sony's software was hideous, useless, slow, and needed to transcode everything to Sony's ATRAC format before sending to the player. There was no way I could possibly use it as my everyday audio player on the PC. Since that awful experience I have never considered buying another Sony player. Again, I know the iPod needs iTunes, but the way it's done is so much better, smoother, easier... And as a player, iTunes is good enough that I use it on Windows without even owning an iPod!

The Zune is dead ??

I do remember when it was announced (everybody had a good laugh that day).

I also remember that it was claimed to been launched, but personally I've never seen evidence that would support that.

I really thought it had been quitely moothballed a year ago or so ....
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

Creative have some of the best sounding mp3 players out there.

I have had my Zen vision M for 4 years and and it is awesome.

As  A music consumption device the Zune HD was miles ahead of the iPod.  However everyone wants their MP3 players to do eveything under the sun these days and no one is ever going to catch up with Apple on the App store front

Kinect is the biggest/quickest selling consumner item in history having sold over 10 million units since launch (averaging about 135,000 a day), which is darn impressive for something that only has a market for one device. Even iPad/Iphone, etc. cant touch it. Anyway, point of this is that I strongly doubt that something that Im pretty sure was only a myth in Zune (I jest, but Ive never seen one) being put to rest is hardly going to stop Microsoft.
Theyve simply changed focus for portable devices.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

I haven't met anyone in real life who owned one. Plenty of ipods but nowadays, most people just use their phone around here. I like my ipod but mp3 playing is such a fundamentally simple technology that there's little reason lugging around multiple devices these days.

I thought you were talking about Aros' GUI toolkit, the MUI clone "Zune". Thankfully it's just some unpopular Micro$oft crap.
Only time seen zune is on the xbox 360 for playing video have no choice but to use it

Works okay to play vids of the xbox live

Prefer Ps3 way doing things though

Actually of topic the ps3 browser got alot better last update was bit nasty before.

Still not the best though not sure what linux software they use or there on sony one

Microsoft has a good understanding of the enterprise, but they tend to be dodgy when it comes to consumer stuff.
