Would you like to be in an Amiga game?
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:26:50 AM »
Hey everyone! Some of you might already know that we're working on a platform game for classic Amigas, which will hopefully be released this year. It's a Halloween-themed platform adventure for all ages, particularly aimed at kids. In the game, you play a girl who goes out Trick or Treating with her friend, but then all sorts of strange things happen and she has to explore a bunch of levels and battle plenty of nasty enemies. The story is revealed as you play. During the game, you meet other kids who are out trick or treating, as well as adults who answer the door in costumes and give you candy, and we'd like to offer you the chance to have your own character in the game, based on a Halloween costume you or your kids have worn before.

If you think this is a neat idea, link me a photo and our pixel artist will try his best to make a character based on the costume in the photo.

At Underground Arcade, we hope to involve the Amiga community as much as possible in our productions, so if a cutesy platform game isn't to your liking, perhaps one of our other projects may interest you. We'll reveal more about our other games later, but until then, anyone who would like to be in our Halloween Nightmare game, post us a pic! :egad:

You can read more about Underground Arcade's games at our blog, here - http://undergroundarcade.blogspot.com/

And a very early demo that we released last year of our Halloween Game can be downloaded from Aminet here - http://aminet.net/package/game/demo/HalloweenNightmareDemo

Thanks everyone   :kitty:

I sent something in to the guy that did Foundation, I think that was the game, but I never found out if it ended up in the game. That woulda been like 10 years ago.

The creators of the GP2X game Wind & Water created personalised sprites for people who pre-ordered the game. Here's mine:

It's really cool to see yourself in the game :-) I also remember the competition to have a "grunt" named after you in Cannon Fodder (might have been CF2).

So yeah I think this is a really cool idea. But I don't celebrate Halloween ;-)

@Cammy,

What programming language is the team using for your projects?

Nice artwork in the screen shots.

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

The game looks really great Cammy, I have been wanting to write new Amiga games on the original hardware too but alas I am just a music and graphics guy lol.  Really looking forward to the game, having to import my A1200 from the UK to Japan now to play it :)  Good luck with it and keep up the great work!  Ganbatte!

If you feel the need to debate Holloween, discuss it here. Otherwise, it will be deleted. Stay on topic, discuss the game or submit photos as asked.

Since you asked, I'd love to be in a game.
