Vesalia & Elbox thumbs up
« on: November 20, 2007, 11:12:53 PM »
I just thought I would share a positive experience.
I wanted to get an Elbox Mirage 3000D tower for my A3000 system.  I discovered that they are no longer in production, so what you can find is what you can find.
I found that Vesalia had some in stock.  They were very helpful and shipped everything to me right away, so Vesalia gets my first thumbs up.

Elbox gets the huge thumbs up though, because of what happened next.  I realized that I ws getting a machine from germany with a power supply intended for 230volts... which we in the states do no have.  I called Elbox (late at night their time) and someone answered the phone, and he took a shot at talking to me about my problem in english.  He told me not to worry, to get the machine, open the power supply and take a digital picture, send the picture to support@elbox.com and that they would send me instructions on how to convert it for 110volts.  It turns out they did not produce different power supplies for 220 and 110... the difference is just a wire that needs to be soldered in for it to become 110.  I got the tower.  It looked great by the way, I took the picture, sent it in, and the next day I had a reply.  The instructions were very clear.  It took me about 1/2 hour to make the mod, and the tower sprang to life on 110.
So I just wanted to pass on my appreciation of Elbox working with a customer on something custom, on a product no longer being made, all the way from Poland.
Thought I would pass it on.
Dan

We often like to moan and complain about bad service, but forget to praise good service.

Good for you!  :-)

I've moaned about Elbox in the past, but their responses to my concerns were at least prompt. They even sent me a free Spider. Of course, I've never been able to use it. . . .

I had good luck with Elbox when ordering quick shipping and just good service in general.

I am curious about shipping of the tower was it expensive? I have been looking for a tower for my 3000D and hadn't been able to find one since Elbox no longer makes them.

I accidentally killed my Fast ATA last year and Elbox quickly offered to resolder the traces free of charge!   :-)

How much did you pay in the end?

How did you learn that Vesalia had them? They havent had any cases (beside a 1200 one) on their site for ages.
