Looking for Games!!!
« on: February 25, 2003, 01:30:35 PM »
Genesi has an immediate need for new and old games that have a small memory requirements and can either be stored in a STB or handheld device.  We will also be using the W@LK KEY.  The W@LK KEY can be loaded with many games, traded between gamers, or given away with advertising related promotions.

If you have access to sources or want to develop or port old Amiga games to MorphOS do not miss the positive financial opportunity to do so.

Please direct all interest to Genesi at bbrv@genesi.lu

Best regards,

R&B  :-)

Hi there,

I'd like to draw your attention to a new game development company called DreamOn Studio.
We're 7 people, ex-Infogrames employees, with a good track record of released professional games.

Have a look on http://www.dreamon-studio.com (warning, the intro uses Flash)

Some people in DreamOn were or are still Amiga related : one of our coder, Laurent K. used to code demos on his A500-A1200, our main artist Philippe D. is the creator of Mr.Nutz and did the gfx work on Toki,  Ocean Beach Volley, Ivanhoe etc... all on Amiga ! And our musician is ... Allister Brimble !

We're ready to work with any publishers of content in the gaming industry and we have a strong experience in next gen and handheld production.

Let's talk about all this !

Bye,
Ben Yoris

Hi Raquel and Bill,

here at e.p.i.c. we would be very happy to port our existing and coming portfolio of Desktop and handheld games to this new market.

Best Regards

Hi there...

I have plenty of old Amiga projects that could be transferred over - you may remember our old company Almathera - I'm now running a new company (Mysterious Ways) and it'd be great to get back into Amiga work again.

Hi,

Even without programming skills, you could use tools such as Inga to develop educational or adventure-type applications and distribute it on the W@lk Key. Your titles could also run on Mac, Windows or Linux without change (but not as smoothly as on a MorphOS Pegasos, of course!  :-D   :-D  )

Well, that is GREAT!  (keep X-Files tune running....it may be their first, but not their last  ;-)  )

Jolyon, we would be very happy to pick up where we left off with you, Paul and Amathera.  As we recall you have rights and sources to a number of fun titles.  :-)

Ben, with the Infograme experiences the Dream On team could bring some current and useful knowledge of the broader Video Game market as it exists today to our efforts.  :-)

Thomas, e.p.i.c. has been the first company to release MorphOS game content and of course we will undoubtedly look to you to lead the third party development coordination if you are willing.  :-D

What is clear with the three of you located in the UK, France and Germany respectively is that we have three coordinators for the future of the platform.  And, with smart guys like Ron in Holland and that last idea above we can start to generate success one step at a time.  :-)

Game Developers and/or future Business Owners here is a message for you:

Think about a television producer that makes a television show -- that is you.  Genesi will be the "network" that then offers your "show" on the internet or to local "broadcasters" or Franchisees (operators).

Please have a look at the Capture the Frag Gaming Centre.   FYI, the Business Plan and the local franchise for www.capturethefrag.com can be awarded to any qualified  Phoenix member (send us an email!).  We are working on the "How to Do" book now.  Genesi will contribute to the financial development of the franchisees through low cost machines, software, free upgrades, etc.  In exchange, for equipment, upgrades, etc. the Franchisee will pay a license fee on profits -- and have a decent opportunity to make some money himself.

For our DTV STB project think bigger than a LAN -- we will have a "Capture the Frag" channel where many different types of games will be offered.

Once these games are tried and tested in Capture the Frag Centres or on the Capture the Frag Channel we will begin online leagues, etc.  Here you will be offered a percentage of the profits -- as Genesi syndicates your game.  We will manage and distribute your game with minimum yearly license fees to be paid to you.  Of course, you can sell your games through the normal distribution channels too.   :-)

We will be forming a Genesi Game Producer Committee  soon.  At the very least, we hope Ben, Jolyon, Ron and Thomas will serve on this Committee.  We will ask Thomas to serve as the Chairman!  Our first order of business will be to put togther the Game Developer Package with tools and a proper API for our upcoming requirements.

Look for details soon!  Please send us a statement of your interest.

Sincerely,

R&B  :-)

Note: Tomasz Staniak in Poland we would like to get your involved too.  We see a BIG future in the Polish market and very much appreciate the support you have offered.  There are many great things coming from Poland, including one of our first Demo Teams for the Scene.   :-D

Hi Ben

You should have posted this here as you did on Ann about DreamOn, we have no reason to flame you do we  ;-)

Anyways this is more Amiga related/interesting than some of the News posts lately.
 Good luck with your company.

Well then, here I am :)
a little bit confused and lost, waiting for more details but also excited to see that something IS being done on the platform I have so much heart and sentiment for.
I hope my and my team's experience will become handy in the project you are planning.

Seeing FOUR long time Amigans and Game Developers show up for the "first' time here to say a positve word is a small indication of the things to come...;-)

@OneVision:

Good luck to you and your new company. Any chances that you will release something for the AmigaOne?

Shouldn't this be a News Item?
