I wasn't clear on that from the Vampire team posts.  Is a ZII board (for the 2000) in development (in addition to the A500 board)?

and...Is the IDE performance they referred to from an interface on the board or a 3rd party legacy card?

I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Zorro II?
I am not following you.
Why?
An A2000's would be speed up either at the cpu socket or the processor card slot.
Or were you just thinking about IDE?
Running that through Zorro wouldn't make sense, it would slow down transfer rates for a fast IDE drive.

If they work the shape of the V500 board right it should be able to get used with an A2000 as well. Much like the Deringer boards did. With even more luch the A1000 might even be able to take advantage of it.

They are adding a bit more features to the A500v2 version. Dunno if the shape will change and there is an A2000 cpu slot adapter if I remember correctly. It will have everything on the current vampire including the IDE and more ram and some other undisclosed features. (I would hope it would be networking or some kind of clock port thingy)

The current Vampire2 500 seen in videos and forum posts is now classified as a developer or Apollo team version and wont be released into the wild and will be retired.

Vampires also come in BLACK EDITION options with a faster FPGA about 20% faster than the standard Vampire 2's.

If all goes well orders can start going out or at least START being processed by late 2016.
Order method will not be the same as the Vampire 600.

No locked hardware pay to play schemes. What you buy is what you get and very  reasonably priced due to low overhead.
I got all this info from hanging out in the Vampire team IRC chat.

Would love an inexpensive way to get IDE-CF on the A500.

Of course it would use the processor slot.  Brain fart on my part. I was thinking in terms of the A2000 form factor being different from the 500 and, while there is a big market for the 500, not so much for the 2000.
