Apparently, they have hired new developers who will take commodore os into the future...

By spending countless development minutes skinning it to look more like amiga OS.

Who knows this grand new vision of commodoreOS's future might also include new wallpapers, or other worthless eye candy that takes minutes and minutes to make.

Silly commodoreUSA, Leave mint linux alone.

I don't think this is CUSA actually. This is apparently done by one Buffo Luciano, and I don't recognise that name from the CUSA staff  (all three of them).

OT:
To be honest I think they've all given up and gone home anyway. The forums seem to be run by one person, Barry hasn't posted on the forums since August, last I checked - there's no "Amiga" range available any more at all, and I don't even know if they're still selling the C64x.  I think there's only Leo doing anything these days, by reskinning Linux Mint.

Someone must've simply posted this in the wrong section.

Those screenshots aren't even from a Linux distro. They're from MacOSX.

Thats kinda funny...

Is Commodore OS anything more than a theme on Mint? so if you put a different theme on it, is anything of Commodore OS left?

I'm surprised Apple hasn't chimed in about this..... :laugh1:

Holy heck.
You guys are right.

It is indeed Linux.

It does look a lot like MacOSX though. The whole file browser looks basically identical.

I'm really surprised Apple hasn't patent trolled yet.

Funny though that it may be illegal for them to be using the commodore name at all now,
given the current legal stuff with the name and so on.

I guess they lost the right to use the amiga name, maybe they stopped paying silly billy and Amiga inc for the stickers?

Strange those amiga mini's and other equally stupid amiga branded pcs just vanished
from their website.

I always think its funny that they just delete stuff from their website and act like that stuff never happened. All those grand plans and big boasts,,, Gone.

Maybe their 3 million dollar advertising budget dried up, so far no tv ads...?

I guess poor leo is left alone to play with his linux mint distro reskinned as commodore os.

So much for the second coming of commodore... (yeah right!)

Commodore OS... hahahaha. Wow linux mint with a commodore wallpaper.
IMPRESSIVE.

:pint:

Those guys have to lay off the booze...

Haywire, wasn't it $30 Million and not $3 Million?

Anyway i think those icons look great and i'm thinking i may have to install that theme for my newly installed MATE.

Also why is it called osx?

"MorphOS causes pregnancy."

Sex causes pregnancy, having it that is; MorphOS causes the opposite.

Silly commodoreUSA, Leave mint linux alone.

They "forked", if you can even call it that, their distro into two seperate distro's. Leo is working on the new Vision, the one you download, and then this new guy is working on Fusion, the one they intend to dump on their system.

Recently Leo asked their forums to start making tutorials for him and asked for help skinning the Mate desktop. My question would be why someone who was apparently hired for their technical "expertise" suddenly needs all this help skinning it. The tutorials I kind of can understand because they do take time to write. However the rest he should be able to do if he is the tech expert. Given the fact that Leo has had very little involvement with the community in terms of help I also do wonder how much involvement he has in the company at all.
