I belive that crossdos was included with OS2.1, however I'm not 100% sure.

My 1200 got a new keyboard this winter (and high time too!). I got it from Datakompaniet (http://www.datakompaniet.no) who also sell 2-3-4000 keyboards. Only catch is that the 1200s are Norwegian and the others are German, but if you are able to install a new keyboard in the first place, switching the keycaps should be a piece of cake.

@Focal_Loco:

Could you describe what it does or doesn't do exactly? Perhaps we might be able to trace the problem back to a simple problem? :-).

Someone said they abandoned their Amiga...

Yes I also came back after about 4 years.
I did and still do have ocasion to transfer files from
the box (clone) to my Amiga is I use a NULL modem.
All you need is a Null Modem adptor(radioshack$5??)
and a terminal prg. on each machine. I use
JR COM on the amiga and ProTerm the clone.
On the clone just shell to dos and run the term prg.
On the Amiga I keep JR Com on the workbench,
just click it. Set the prefs on each machine, then
one machine Uploads while the other Downloads
and vice-verse. Its a piece of cake and cheep.
All you need is 2 serial cables and the Null modem.
And any old PD term prgs. should work.
Hope this helps.

@ Focal_Loco

I've really good experience with Software Hut in Pennsylvania USA if you're here in the States.  Fellow named Chris has been a real big help when I started bringing my A2000 up to snuff.  Class A people to deal with. :-D  :-D  :-D

CrossDOS was included with 2.1.

Though fat95 will work with 2.0 and (supposedly)even 1.3.

Quote
From fat95 readme:

Purpose
=======

"fat95" is a DOS handler to mount and use Win95/98 volumes just as if they were
AMIGA volumes.

System requirements
===================

* every AMIGA, OS 1.3+ (OS 2.0+ for full functionality)
* a suitable device file for low level disk access, like the
  mfm.device for floppies.
