WinUAE relative speed on Win98 vs WinXP?
« on: June 15, 2008, 09:47:28 AM »
Hi,

Does anyone know (or has anyone compared) the relative speed of WinUAE running under Windows 98, compared to Windows XP (on the same hardware)?

Just curious...

Cheers,

Mike.

Will be something of a moot point shortly, as the next release will drop support for Win9x/Me  :-P

I have compared it running on Win98 to WinXp (though not since about version 1.2).
Using the same hardware, they ran at nearly identical speeds.
Maybe a fraction slower on XP when in windowed mode, though the the XP install did have considerably more background tasks vying for processor resources.
