Hoya!
I am in a create-a-thread mood these days!
So here it is...
I know some classics are gonna be everyone's faves but maybe some more obscure titles will emerge...
Mine are:
SOTB
Wings
Lotus I and II
Jaguar XJ 220
Awesome
Pinball Dreams
Pinball Fantasies
Pinball Illusions (I DO think Slam Tilt just SUCKS!!!)
Saint Dragon
Chaos Engine
Nitro
IK+ (fantastic!)
Test Drive I and II (especially the second one)
Some more will pop up later I guess but I am not talking about arcade conversion, right? Only genuine Amiga games...

Turrican games
Cannon Fodder (War song)
-
Music from Lemmings I always found pretty catchy
Same with Simon the Sorcerer
Megaball's got a nice diverse soundtrack
Liberation CD32 was another good one.
-
All music made by Maniacs Of Noise! :-) Simply amazing!
-
My top five in reverse order:
5. Turrican II (need I say more?)
4. Universe CD32 (very atmospheric)
3. Pinball Illusions CD32
2. Microcosm (yes, really!)
1. Payback (very professional)
Steve.

Turrican II (neither I nor III can hold a candle to this one)
Shadow of the Beast I
Shadow of the Beast II---death song
Leander
Speedball 2---intro song
Hybris
Battle Squadron---especially the high score song
Project X
Bionic Commando (who remembers this one?)
and quite a few others I can't recall right now.
-
Blood Money
Lemmings II
Rambo III
Jaguar XJ 220
Lotus Turbo 1, 2, & 3
-
Hoya!
Argh, I forgot one of my other faves...
Battle Squadron, especially the title track.
Lemmings 1&2 rock.
Oh!
The Unreal title track! Mental!
All for now...
No! SpeedBall 2 got a nice one, too.
Besides, SpeedBall got quite an atmospheric tune, doesn't it?

2) Lotus 2
3) Jag Xj220
4) Xennon 2
5) Magic pockets
And many more....... :-D

The Killing Game Show
Anyone remember that one with the sampled quotes
from US presidents? Very catchy tunes.

What about Agony? Great Soundtrack!

What about Agony? Great Soundtrack!

Xenon II Megablast Rocks....
-
Definately the War track from Cannon Fodder :-P
Although not a soundtrack the opening titles to Perhelion always used to freak me out as a kid :-o
-
Oh no, more Lemmings - Hillarious, funky, bubble-gum pop.
Lotus II & III - Synth-pop rules!
Onslaught - Suckiest game ever, but the soundtrack rocks!
-
You got Turrican and Chaos Engine which are awesome,
but you forgot Super Stardust. - Lars
-
The Chaos Engine is definitely one of my faves - the intro music is fantastic (sadly missing on the CD32 version) and the in-game ones are excellent too.
Project X is the next that springs to mind.
And of course, Turrican II ;-)
The Settlers, Magic Pockets, Gods, Cannon Fodder, Gloom... The list is nearly endless.

Battle Squardron - Highscore theme
Btw. it's a very cool and playable game with really nice gfx and sfx. Was one of the games I played the most back then, unfortunately it was just way too easy to complete.
-
There is only one game that has the best soundtrack of all soundtracks ever made for any platform.
I even only turned on my A1000 just to listen to it's Title Theme. And i can tell you it was running for hours so i listened to it all day long, when i was not playing it.
What game it is?
Of course it's Turrican 2!!! :-D
Turrican 1 and 3 are not reaching that quality. Though Turrican 3 Title theme is nearly (but not that near) identical to Turrican 2 Title theme.
Boy was i dissappointed when i first hear Turrican 3's Title theme. :-(

WAR!
Never been so much funnnn

Apprentice by Rainbow Arts (the only game to rival SuperMarioWorld (at the time) on the Amiga although not technically.
this game is on a single floppy and loaded with different worlds and secret levels...........Amazing!
the music fits the game perfectly too!
-
Okay, in no particular order...
SuperFrog -- puts Super Mario to shame, smooth graphics, awesome sound effects and music to fit each level. Best platformer ever!
The Pawn -- never got into the game, but the title music was hauntingly beautiful
BattleSquadron -- Amazing scrolling shooter, why don't they make them like this anymore?
Hybris -- I believe the prequel to BattleSquadron -- also amazing
Blood Money -- "There's a whole lot more comin'" -- fun music, great graphics. A shame I couldn't make it very far -- just too hard...
SOTB -- Graphics, music, and sounds to amaze! Needed a cheat to beat the dang thing, though
Turrican -- Another I needed a cheat for, but it was fun to just play through to see the sights and hear the music! Unfortunately, I never got Turrican II, but I've heard good things about it!
Zoom! -- Fun, yet simple little game. Ripped off SuperFreak for the title while it did a magic show. Nice.... "Hey, hey, Wow!"
Roadkill -- "Go for the Super Jackpot!" -- Nice the way the music picked up the more "kills" you got. :)
Alien Syndrome -- Can't quite remember the music, but I remember I liked it.
Test Drive I & II -- Both had great music.
Harlequin -- Smooth graphics, sound, and music.
MegaBall -- Add your own music via your mod file collection. Cool idea!
There are tons more, but this is what strikes me off the top of my head....

Olof Gustafsson made terrific music for all those 21st Century Pinball tables. Too bad his modern stuff with Dice isn't that hot.
The first stuff to really wow me out, though, was Tim Wright's music for Awesome. I LOVED that soundtrack. He also did the audio for Wipeout, under the label CoLD SToRAGE. Talented guy.
And, yes, Turrican 2 rocks. I'm disappointed nobody has convert the TMFX format music to an 8-track XM, yet. Thank goodness for Deliplayer.
The T2002 demo has a high-quality WAV of the original music included, which makes a great MP3 project. http://www.pekaro.de/
-
Turrican 2 and Beast 2 are equal to me I think. I used to sit and play the music for friends that had a PC back then and show off. Those were the days for sure!!
-
Utopia intro
Space Hulk intro
-
I haven't seen this mentioned yet: SLAM TILT!
Tunes, effects... everything was amazing.
I liked even the intro/options tune, despite not being my genre at all!

@EnyGmaTiK
What about Agony? Great Soundtrack!
That one was great. Also the music when the level was loading.

Wasnt that the 2-player sequel to Hybris? I used to also like the intro-tune bit for Magnetic Fields games (supercars, lotus esprit etc). Its a clip from Richard Wagners Twilight of the gods.
-
Turrican 2. Music rox, and greatly "synchronized" with the intro sequence
Flashback. excellent soundtrack for an excellent game
Z-out. Quite old (89 or 90) but excellent. I never played Project-X so I don't know if it is the best shoot'm'up soundtrack...
Shadow of the beast. Cool
Xenon 2: (perhaps) not the worse, but how can you call this a soundtrack since there is only *one* music for all levels...how boooring... :-D
-
I give my list of favorites:
- shadow of the Beast (of course!): i remember i was so hooked by the music, i even recorded on tape and played it on and on one time i went on vacation with my ex girfriend. She kept asking me "what is this strange music"?? I had to tell her a little lie (that i actually did it myself...lol)
- project X : i loved the Tchaikovsky tune at the end, when you got a high score.
- super stardust
- slam tilt
- pinball dreams
- turrican
- blood money
- body blows (i loooved the rave intro tune!!)
Oh God! i realize that i havent played some of this games for more than 4 years! shame on me!!

Favourite Amiga Soundtracks (in no particular order):
Shadow Of The Beast

Speedball 2 (intro)
Cannon Fodder (intro)
Sensible Soccer (intro)
Snesible Golf (intro)
Road Rash (not as good as Mega Drive though)
DoomAttack :-D
-
Hoya!
Argh!... Reading your posts, I realise I forgot the GREAT Flashback! Done by AudioMonster (a Frog ;-P ). Too bad he quit the business... :-(
As for the Captain Blood soundtrack... Well, I have it on my Ammy... In France... :-(
But go to the Exotica forum (the BEST site when it comes to Amiga music) and ask for it. Someone may have it.
And yes, I also forgot Road Rash! I like this game quite a lot actually... It is really fun and the characters are nice.

without a doubt, the best soundtrack is 'It came from the desert'!! it had the scariest game music of all time! :-)
-
Ok, my top 5 that probably haven't been mentioned so far.
There was a PD platform game called Quick and Silver, which I thought had a really great themetune, I would let it play over and over and over and over, it was pretty long! :-D
Also I loved the theme tune to Datastorm, a game that came as part of a bundled pack of 10 games in the Amiga Magic pack - A500 ... from Gordon Harwood computers. ... not sure how else it was distributed but I LOVE that game and the themetune was really cool. (defender clone) :-D
Astro Marine Corps was a pretty cool platformer that I liked.
Hmm .. well I am not remembering too many other tunes at the moment . . I of course loved SOTB 1&2, superfrog, etc.
-
Hoya!
I just remember...
Deflektor! The melody is.. hum errrr bouncy! ;-)

1. Shadow of the Beast
2. Secret of Monkey Island
3. Monkey Island II
4. Simon the Sorcerer
5. Space Quest III & IV (the main/opening themes)
6. Leisure Suit Larry III ?
I see most ppl here also name Turrican II, unfortunately I dont remember the soundtrack of that game, but I suppose it's really good due to it's popularity in here !

@MAD
I would rather have the game :-) but it seems i cant ( :pissed: ), I mean I downloaded and took home a imgae-/adf-2disk progg, but then there at home realized that an unpacked floppy-image of about 911K (if I'm correct) does NOT fit in my 800k+ available ram to write to disk, so now I wonder if there is any adf2disk progg which supports zip-files, otherwise it's impossible for me to play any amiga games again, well another possibility would be if an image-/adf-2disk progg would support lha AND that I would find myself a page that has commercial old games in lha- rather then the usual zip-format, help anyone ?

Hybris!!!
Test Drive II
Shadow of the Beast II
Blood Money!
