Someone needs to learn how to do perspective in Photoshop properly. And I'm sure this would be really terrific if I wanted to buy a mostly-okay i5 system from a rent-to-own company for two or three times what I could build an equivalent system for.

OK, new rule guys! All you have to do is put a "Commodore" or "Amiga" sticker on anything and it automatically turns it into an Amiga.

Bad Photoshops are also accepted!

...you know, how did they even do that? It's seriously not that hard, Photoshop lets you position each corner separately and does the appropriate transform all on its own. Maybe I was wrong, maybe they did it in MS Word...

It looks like the store is set up for people who want to buy outright rather than RTO.  Prices seem quite good too.  They don't try to screw you on the options either.  Upgrade from 2GB to 4GB is £10 vs £80 if you're you want to do the same with your Mac Mini when you buy from Apple.

Saying that something's less expensive than an Apple product isn't saying much...unless you really need an all-in-one computer, you can build an equivalent to a maxed-out $1080 one of these for about $300, and toss in a couple hundred bucks worth of 21" flatscreen while you're at it.

Well, they pay Amiga Inc. royalties (as well as CUSA) don`t they?

And what they say ... Amigas were never cheap :-)

Sick humor, really.

However, logo and the BoingBall look stylish.

How surprised hope someone will be too see there is much more to it.

I dunno... am I wrong in thinking bounties to get AROS running completely on that thing?

Maybe, if enough sell, Amiga Inc, C=USA, Hyperion or MorphOS might get the hint?

Yea, I know... I'm dreamin', but when has that ever stopped an Amiga fan? :D

Amiga Inc. only talks in the language of direct cash licensure, the other three are all off on their own quixotic paths of varying degrees of insanity. None of the above are likely to be swayed by so simple a factor as popularity.

Besides, AROS already runs native on x86, and as far as I can tell both Intel and Nvidia 2D acceleration are supported, so I wouldn't think there should be a problem.

I think you're being a bit harsh on this product. I enquired about this computer a while back and they offered to sell me one outright and at a reasonable price(even though the full production run hadn't started yet). I am going to buy one and set it up as a AmigaSys4 WinUAE machine(using the guide to hiding windows found on this site).
I think it looks great and is better value than a lot of the other NG Amiga options.

You know if it was a touch cheaper it would make a nice work system. I prefer this style of all in one system.

I was quoted £305 for a machine with lower specs.

Suppose that's not bad. Actually considering your getting the monitor and such you cant really argue with that. Certainly better value than CUSA and their VIC range lol.

Please post the specs they quoted you for that price, so we can help you see that it probably is not such a good deal.

Anything that runs windows +UAE + amiga sticker is apparently an amiga :(

I just followed the link from the first post, and for £305.89 you can get a 21.5" screen, 1.8GHz Atom CPU and 2GB RAM. I don't think that's unreasonable (at work we tend to get Acer Revos of a similar spec - I think the last one I ordered was around £250 plus the cost of the monitor.)

We use those Acerbic Revo machines at work. They are nice little computers and work fantastic with Ubuntu. So for the money I would consider this to be a nice machine for office work and letting the kids surf the web and play that silly club penguin thing.

As for the Amiga brand.

Well it just goes to show what happens if you have enough money I suppose.

Amiga, Inc. can be anything you want it to be, baby. Would you like to go find a cheap motel room and have some fun with it? Cash up front, please!

Well CUSA have managed to lower the prestige to that of a cheap £3 Dalton hooker. So living the dream with that one lol.
