Continuing the theme of "Most xxxx Amiga game", what would you say is the most SCARY Amiga game?
I've just been playing Shadow of the Beast II and I must say the animated intro is both excellent and genuinely spooky.
What do you reckon?
-
Testament was sort of spooky..
:nervous:
-
i remember when i was still a youngster that Barbarian was a little bit scary. the music and heads dropping off.
-
Prince of Persia;
Those chopping blades :bigcry:
-
"Sword of Sodan", especially on the graveyard and when entering the castle ("Beware of traps!"). Ahh, memories... :-D
-
With the right age and the right surroundings Eye of the Beholder can be quite scary. Cause nothing realy beats First Person Shooters and as Quake1&2 exists for the Amiga those are deffinitly the scariest IMHO. :)
-
Doom was much scarier than Quake :-) I remember playing Doom on my Amiga in my teens and having to keep my feet on the chair while I was playing

Eye of the beholder 1 and 2 was one of my favorite games, then i just remember it came from the desert, that was quite a scary game.
-
Darkseed with all that Geiger stuff?
-
Darkseed with all that Geiger stuff?
His name is H. R. Giger (http://www.hrgiger.com/).
-
Brian the Lion...those...c.cc.cc.coconuts!
-
I think Space Hulk was scarier than pretty much any other game. It was very claustrophobic, and you only had to make a slight mistake, and what should have been a safe corridor became decorated with your blood and guts. Phew! :)
-
SPACE HULK defintly that music and all remember made some inpact the first times i play it
-
People?!
It came from the Desert...
That music still gives me nightmares!! :-o
-
Another World especially when them creepy black things suddenly stab you! :-o

That's him, radioactive stuff.

I remember playing Alien Breed 3DII TKG in the middle of the night, on a 20" TV and with two huge speakers. That background-music made my skin bubble...
-
Elvira Mistress of the Dark had some scary scenes. Eyes plucked out of sockets, beheadings etc etc.
-
Nightbreed gave me the creeps back I was 11 or 12 and got my first A500.
-
I totally agree with Angus & Adonay...
I would literally jump out of my seat when a gene stealer came rushing out of the abyss like hole in the wall.
"bless your weapons and go"

I remember getting a shiver up my spine when the your ghostly double came out the mirror in Prince of Persia.
-
Who can forget the old classic, Dungeon Master!! Especially when you turned the speakers up.
Eye of the Beholder was pretty close in terms of sweaty palms.
-
Most definitely Hired Guns, I mean that atmospheric deep spooky hum constently droning in the background, The sense of solitude and the nervous twitch of butt cheeks wondering when one of thoughs alien type creatures would appear. :-o
I nearly had nightmares back then, And i was pushing 23. :-D
Trooper

For some reason I found the title music to Total Recall terrifying.

my top 3:
- another world
- shadow of the beast 2 (the intro :-o )
- hired guns (what an atmosfere!)
... i remember being pretty scared back then,...
-
I gotta agree with Unit21 and Andeda It came from the Desert can still give me chills just listening to the intro music. It just has this amazing/frightening ambiance to it.
Weird Dreams was also pretty darn freaky but mostly because of the giant wasps :nervous:

Shadow of The Beast II - Intro
Myth - The sound in game - the "ambient"
-
not really scary, but with a good and tense atmosphere

And the Elvira and Elvira2 games... really scary!!
-
Hired Guns... and Alien Breed 3D I guess :)
-
"Elvira Mistress of the Dark had some scary scenes. Eyes plucked out of sockets, beheadings etc etc."
That did it for me as well..........
-
Super Frog
.. nah, just kidding
Sorry, I had to do it.
-
Dungeon Master.
With my Amiga connected to a stereo you could hear those creeps coming from the left before you saw them. :-P
-
There were some scary themed levels in Lemmings and they had this weird music where part of it sounded like it was coming from behind you.
-
For me it was Wax Works. That copper. And the creepy music. And it starts out at night in the dark.
I think it was 10 or 11 disks in the end and I never got past something like a level two I think.
I must get it back out and try again :-o :-o
-
I found "It Came From The Desert" quite spooky. I also recall around 95 there being an 18-rated game called "Bloodnet" but never played it.
-
"Uninvited" did it for me :-( The number of times that skeleton had me jumping out of my chair as a youngster!
-
Bloodnet is at times spooky. But is a good graphic adventure with touchs of rpg and the first i saw with cyberpunk theme.
100x100 recommended, altough the pc version is superior in graphics and sound.
-
Dreamweb
It Came From The Desert 1+2
Elvira 1,2
WaxWorks (Elvira3)
Bloodnet
Darkseed ECS+cd32
And i found Nightlong to be abit tense at times.
But still the most scary game for me was Dreamweb.
-
Although not a particularly good game - Zombie was pretty scary.
I still remember the first time I played it (a very long time ago). The room was in darkness, the sound cranked up and loads of zombies clipperty-clopping around the mall.
Then in a flash, a zombie would jump out at you and maul you to death. Had to change my undies I did. :-o
-
my vote goes to Weird Dreams
-
Weird Dreams, getting chopped up by a lawnmower or eaten by a giant football with fangs was very freaky.
-
I would say Egyptian run (or something like that)
It was a PD game on fredfish, the game was simple, drive a jeep and dont crash into the rocks.. but if you did
a big skull would go argh argh argh at you.
Scary!
I wasnt in to the scary stuff, I bought fast shoot em ups or adventure games mainly.
