A1200 works with Dell SR2320L w/o FF/SD!

Hey guys, thought you might like to know this.

Last night, I decided to hookup my Dell SR2320L monitor to my A1200. I knew it wasn't going to work....until this happened! (pardon the mess!)
The A1200 is pretty much stock. The only exception is a GVP 1230+, 030, with MMU and 8 MB ram.

I am flabbergasted that this monitor syncs. Now, I haven't run through all the modes. I did try the higher 72 modes and the 2320 doesn't like those. It you stick with the 50 and 60 Hz ranges it works fine. The "Super" modes work, bu they don't look that great.

Great to see! Can you check some more modes using SYS:Prefs/Overscan and report back (with photos)?

Hmmm, that means that this monitor can sync @ 15khz or it means that this amiga has an internal scan doubler?

Cheers Steve!  Thanks for sharing that.  My company uses Dell computers.  I'm going to pester the IT department on Monday to see if they have any old SR2320L monitors!

BestBuy have them for sale at $210.

Interesting, this is probably because of the support for HDMI devices.

Probably they extended the "video modes" support to the VGA connector as well.

Surprisingly, the specs say that the monitor will only sync down to 30kHz.. :-)

I see vertical banding on your pics. Is that correct? If so, this is the same thing as with the scandoublers of old and the indivision would still be better.

It's the standard Commodore silver box adapter, as seen in the first 2 pictures.

wow awesome! please let us know if PAL works.. I wish my Dell would work on vga it does support analogue video (svideo and comp) but the only mode works on vga is vga modes on amiga....
