Video Toaster 4000 Manual pdf
« on: February 20, 2013, 07:43:07 AM »
This is the first time I've seen this and I'm very glad it exists. I see requests for manuals and installation help constantly because most people don't have manuals. We've actually wanted one at the office a few times.

Even cooler is that it's OCR'ed, so it's searchable!

If that goes down I"ll post it somewhere myself, maybe on ftp.newtek.com or something.

NewTek can't host it.

Even though someone took copyrighted material, reproduced it and distributed it, there could be some legal gotcha in some country that causes the pdf itself to be copyrighted by the person who created it. (maybe they added or changed something, who knows)

NewTek can't take that risk for no benefit, it's not worth it.

My personal (not NewTek's) opinion is to mirror the heck out of it and they aren't going to waste their time and money to go after someone for an ancient users manual.

Awesome! Nice to have someone with a modern day connection as part of the community.

I think it was Pyromania who created the PDF, so I think it's pretty likely that he'd sign whatever paperwork would be required to make sure NewTek can distribute it. Then again, the LOE to set that up might not be worth it.

I found the PDF quite a few months back and printed it in color & in duplex, then added dividers;  it is is a large document but I think very readable and extremely useful for those who pick up the boards without anything.  If you print it in duplex, then remove the first page to align the blank sheets properly.  I also used a scanned cover to make an insert into the front cover of a 3 ringed notebook.

Much thanks!!!!
Earth has a lot of things other folks might want... like the whole planet. And maybe these folks would like a few changes made, like more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and room for their way of life. - William S. Burroughs

@thread

Any of you interested in mode promotion of the toaster s/w, might want to read this:

Lightwave and Modeler mode promotion

I'd be curious on how well this works for classic as well.

@ral-clan

Yes, this would help
