Video Toaster Flyer Drives
« on: December 14, 2006, 02:51:53 AM »
I recently got a Video Toaster Flyer and wondered what are the suggested drive people use with modern drives.

Can I use a standard Segate 73 gig drive at 7200 or 10000 rpm with a 68 pin to 50 pin adapter?

Will it support drives that big?

Where is the best place to get the docs for this thing.  It came with very little. Although I have used them in the past I have never acutally set one up.. less with modern drives.

This is all in a A4000T.

Yes you can use the drives, yes you can use the adapters.  There is a huge FAQ about the system at Newteks site, the best source of info for it is the Yahoo group VTFML (Video Toaster Flyer Mailing List) which Paul Lara and I moderate.  Which is still pretty active though not as much as 5 years ago or so.

WOW.. Newtek still has Amiga information on the site. I looked around and did not see much about Amiga anymore.

I will check out the sites.

Waiting for my 060 now.

Did anyone ever see the RTG program that Paul Nolan wrote that allowed the toaster screen to be targeted to CGX?

I saw him working on it at Antigravity at one point and was with in at the Newtek show in LA when he was showing it to Newtek.

It was working I just dont know if it was ever released.

I still have my Amiga Inc badge when I worked the booth at the Newtek show in sheeze... 1996?
