Hi Guys,
A few people already know that I'm taking a break from Amiga coding and selling my gear (a few items will be appearing on AmiBay soon).
I thought it would be nice to list all of the ports that I've been working on over the past few years since I got my first ever Amiga
I'll try and list these in roughly the correct order of development..

I have enjoyed quite a few of your ports so thanks for that!
What will you spend your time on when your amiga is gone?
I hope to see you here again soon! :)
-
You have done some really nice work, will miss you!
I hope you will be back some day, will you even sell your 060 card?
Keep your A1200 at least! With luck when you get back the "amiga feeling" there are affordable FPGAs for it :)
Thanks for all your excelent work over the years!
-
Thanks guys :)
Yes it's been quite a ride, I've accomplished more than I ever expected!
Yes already sold my beloved 1260, A1200 next.
Will probably get another one in a few years just to play games :)

dont sell ur gear ...just cover it up ..put it away ..amiga madness will return
-
Agreed, keep at least one cause when you later on want to get another it will be much more expensive, Amiga classic stuff keeps raising in price...
Greatly appreciate your ports too. Hope you'll be back when the FPGA accelerators mature.

Gr8 achievements there congrats!
Is the source code of your ports available so anyone can contribute if needed?

You've accomplished some amazing things. It would be a huge loss for the community if you've left. You are a very talented person mate.
-
Thanks for all your work and help. I support your decision as I know sometimes it's good to drop habits to see other things in life.
-
Good luck, and thanks for the great ports :-)
-
Carry on with your life mate and thank you for your efforts over the years.
ps: you know that you will come back right?
Amiga is our joy and curse...
-
You will be missed NovaCoder.

Yes that's the truth.

You will be missed NovaCoder.
+1
And we will be here to welcome you when you decide to come back ;)
-
I keep hoping maybe one of these days an '060 AGA machine will fall into my lap so I can try some of your ports! But who am I kidding, I don't have room for another computer so I'll just have to live vicariously through all your videos. ;) Awesome work, and best of luck in your future ventures! :D
-
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Very impressed with all the stuff you've done. Enjoy your break! Maybe when you come back we'll all have fpga systems and be able to play your games above 200 mips :)
-
That's a shame, as you're one of the most knowledgeable and level-headed posters on here...
But I get where you're coming from: I was in the same place a few years ago and as we grow up, our priorities change.
I sold all of my Amiga gear (although I might be interested in you A1200 - are you in Melbourne? :-)) and now use WinUAE whenever I feel the need for a nostalgia-fix.
Thanks again for all you work and time!
Cheers,
Mike.

See ya NovaCoder. Seems sad your selling up as we'll never see the Amiga's like again. Computing was new and fun in the 80s and the Amiga really did bring arcade graphics to the home for the first time. I will be sharing my 'miggys with the next generation. No iPad rubbish for my little one. At 2 years old, she already loves Rainbow Islands and Deluxe Pacman and yet she hasn't get used to the CD32 direction pad yet! She thumps that red button like a trooper though ;-)
-
Hats off to your great work!
-
so long and thanks for all the fish :)
-
say it ain't so Nova :cry:
was happy with my 030@50 for years before I saw your 060 ports and that made me lose my mind getting to terms with my 1200T, mediator setup! well worthwhile thanks to your efforts:)
won't say bye but rather see you later:pint:

I think I died a little inside!
I'll re-ask the same question, is the source available for your ports? Eventually I'll get around to coding for the Amiga (been wanting to for years, but real life keeps getting in the way).
You've been a great supporter of the Amiga, and I'm thinking karma will probably give you some returns!
Thanks, and I know you'll be back... they always come back.... muahahaha.
-
Bye NovaCoder. Missing you already. :(
-
Sad to see you go, I've still got your old 060 card. It's still going strong.
Hopefully you will be back, so many good ports. :)
-
Good luck with your new adventures! :D
-
Thanks mate for everything you've done (and maybe will be done in the future):banana::banana:
-
Thanks for all NovaCoder. You are an AmigaHero. It´s sad but It´s your life.
I´m sure I´ll see you with an Amiga+FPGA doing your magic soon.
Thanks again mate!
-
see you, nova! good luck!
-
As you know Nova, I've been going through the same motions. I am keeping in touch with Amiga NG (in it's more affordable incarnations), but have sold most of my old Amiga gear.
That being said, when a high end FPGA solution becomes available, I'll be back with enthusiasm and still intend to take on your Odamex port and see what I can do with it. In the mean time, I still gotta finish up my other video game project and of course keep real life and my other hobbies in interest as well. :)
Enjoy your time off and thank you for paving so much new ground in Amiga land!
-
:( Hate to see you go. Peace.
edit:
Thanks.
-
Best of luck in the future, and thank you very much for your contributions towards the Amiga scene!
-
Aw, man. I hate to see a talented member leave, but I understand life is life. Best wishes for your future.
I am not by any means good enough to do it, so I hope someone else picks up the mantle for some of your projects, especially DOSBox. And ScummVM?! AGH!
God speed, Nova!
-
is the source available for your ports?
It's in the aminet archive: http://aminet.net/package/misc/emu/DOSBox_AGA (http://aminet.net/package/misc/emu/DOSBox_AGA) etc.
-
Thanks for your remarkable efforts for our favourite computer over the years. I do hope you'll return one day though. Cheers buddy :drink:
-
Thanks a lot for beeing with us in the Amiga community for so long.
We'll miss you!
-
Good Luck .
-
Darn impressive your legacy is indeed, you will be missed!
-
Don't like what I see. NovaCoder remember in this Amiga community you have made huge reputation as a coder and as a person. Probably there are no other hobbies or communities in the world where people so much appreciate for someones work like in this one. But you will be back and your statement will change to something like "Life begins at 300Mips" :)
-
Thanks Novacoder for all your great ports and efforts to keep our beloved platform alive. Have a great one. Hope you comeback stronger someday.
Cheers,
Dragster.
-
hey guys he's just taking a break from coding and not leaving us to join the Atari community:biglaugh:
-
All the best mate...but remember it's very likely you'll come back to the Amiga scene so I'd recommend not selling all your stuff. Over the last 20 some years I've taken many breaks but always come back :-)
