afaik the 040 is a totaly diferent kind of animal from 030 and more than this it's not even pin combatible, but who knows maybe someone has something else to propose
A3040/25 AmigaOS 3.9
A1260BPPC AmigaOS 3.9/4.0
Sam440ep AmigaOS 4.1.2
PegasosII/G3 AmigaOS 4.1.2/MorphOS 2.7/Debian 5.0.7/SUSE 11.1
MacMini/G4 1.5 MorphOS 2.7/OSX 10.5.8
Long Live Amiga

If i am going to have bugs on my system,
at least let me keep the latest versions.

No.

How can A2091 SCSI card have a 68030 though?

eh? the 2091 is a hard drive controller. There's no 68030 on it. If you meant "can I replace the 68030 sccelerator board with an '040 and still use the 2091?" That's another question.

I looked at my service notes, and the last entry for the 2091 says the rev 7.0 firmware upgrade adds '68040 support', among other features. Whether that means ir allows the use of an '040 at all or just enables some special '040 stuff, it doesn't make clear.

Perhaps you have a 2630? The 2091 is a SCSI card.

I investigated this matter 7 years ago and concluded the complex logic required to make a 68040 to 68030 bus protocol adapter would be impractical (but not impossible). So I proceeded to modify the A2630 to run at clock speeds up to 52 Mhz. The last changes I documented should be available under Aminet/hardware/mods/A2630Speedupfix.lha. If you have a 50 Mhz 030 and want to go faster leave me a message and your email address. The more recent (but incomplete) document describes the 52 Mhz changes.
