How to Extend Hardfile?
« on: November 28, 2006, 03:51:29 PM »
Is it possible to increase the size of a WinUAE hardfile? I'm using the GCC developer hardfile, which is set to 62MB with very little space left, and I'd like to increase the size a bit to make room for additional libraries and files.

I've created another hardfile to use for work, as well as one linked to the windows filesystem to exchange files with the host pc, but I want to make the boot drive a little larger.

Thanks,
Stivan

EDIT your post and put your question in there.  I deleted the others assuming you posted the question 3 times.

Thanks.  This seems to be happening almost every single time I post, on different computers and using different browsers.  Occassionally a single post will take, but more often it's three posts in a row.  Sometimes two.

just click the submit button once and wait (dont hit refresh)

I dont use a hardfile with WinUAE.. I'm using a directory to boot from that way I dont have to worry about running out of HD space..  I'd go that route if you cannot make the hardfile bigger.

The obvious solution would be to create a new, large enough hardfile and then copy the files over.

That's exactly what I'm doing.  I'm only hitting 'Submit' once and doing nothing more.  It's the oddest thing.

Thanks.  I'm using a GCC environment hardfile and was hoping there was an easy way to resize it.  I think I have a solution now...  (:
