Recently I got of eBay a DCE CS-PPC that came to my hands dead, propably due to transportation.
Luckily I send it over to AMIGA REPAIR CENTER FRANCE ( http://www.amigacenter.com ) where it would be examined (for free!) and be repaired if possible... and guess what! it was fixed 100% , mr Jean Jacques there was very helpfull and he also accepted to our terms (because the larger part of the repair fee was payed by the original eBay seller, another great amigan)
If it was not for that repair center, there would be another dead cs-ppc , because I highly doubt there is someone else that can fix and knows about that hardware...
Just bringing it to your attention, it is a shame not to repair expensive and rare amiga hardware, and just keep them until they are binned... after all there is only postage to be lost, they make a free diagnosis! truly a GREAT Amiga service! :-D :-D
(it may sound like an ad, but it is not, u would be happy too if you found someone reliable to fix your broken rare/expensive stuff   :-D :-D )

Great! glad it worked out well
;-)
Hope JJ will not stop repairing Amiga hardware, we really need him
Guess I have to pack my dead DCE CSPPC and P5 CS MKIII and send to him for repair now...got my inspiration going now :-)

Doesn't sound like an ad to me, sounds like the truth! But then I've also worked with Jean Jacque this year. He brought back my dying A4000 (bad Par: port, sound dying, no battery) and then repaired the '040 card when it failed. (Another EBay machine restored).
I also had a 600 which I'd owned since it was new that popped a capacitor. JJ fixed this up too!
I, like you, have nothing but great things to say about Amiga Center France!

sounds good, I must say that I am STILL sceptical of sending my parts overseas of a fix.... comforting to hear about the success, whats the price? Nad how do you ship and pay ( to be safe)

Visit the website for a full explanation. The estimate is free, I used PayPal to cover the payments. I understand the hesitancy but, given the amount of respect I'd seen for his work by folks here, combined with the two dead or dying Amigas I had, it was worth a bit of risk.
Price varies by repair...contact Jean Jacque for details.

Yep he's really good!
Repaired a 4000 mobo and a PicolloSD64 card for me!

JJ Boulet is a skilled man. He repaired well some of my hardware, but he is expensive. Sometimes, it is cheaper to buy elsewhere the same piece of hardware working.
-
Sometimes its better having "EXPENSIVE" then having "NOTHING". :-D :-D
-
well said... and the repair cost was a normal fee.

Yes, he is very good.
He upgraded a couple of 68040 BlizzardPPC for me to 68060 versions.

thats great news i will have to send him my b 030 mk1v
does he repair 1200 mother boards??
or would it be cheaper to buy a new 1?
-
Excellent service but from my experience expensive. You get a free quote to confirm before repair is actually done though.

Yes very satisfied customer here! Jean fixed my two A4000's and two A600 Motherboards! I got a good price quote and I sent the items to him. Since I live near Seattle I was a little hesitent but figured what the heck. When he got the boards he emailed me that he got them and that he will start working on them and he will let me know if they can or cannot be fixed! Then less than a week later he emails me telling me they are all fixed! I paypal and a week or so later the boards arrive on my door step! How great is that? Keep in mind you will most likey want to send just the circuit boards as that is safer/cheaper, then you have to re-assemble the computer. But I suppose Jean will allow sending the complete computer for those complete novices out there :P
I agree that for say EU people you are better off getting another A1200/600 MB etc if you can, but for the rarer Amigas or for people in the US, it is worth getting them repaired. My two A600s were MINT just dead, so now I have MINT working units...

I can't imagine the amount of money your are willing to spend for your amiga hardware, you worldwide amiga users, if you send your hardware to amigacenter in France.
Fortunately for me, JJ Boulet is a fellow french compatriot :-)
