Maybe the MorphOS team should consider selling "gift vouchers"? Like, you pay now, get some kind of recite, which could in the future be traded in for a license?

It would be a win-win situation. Just a thought...

You mean a "coupon"?  I remember one of those...

I wonder why I can't just contact them with Credit Card or Paypal info. Bah! :/

Because the registering involves sending hardwere info (mac-address) which the license will be locked to. The regtool does this automatically, users doing it manually would quite likely result in lots of errors.

This is totally awesome news. I plan on buying my keyfile when I get home tonight. Makes me happy I had put it off for a bit.

As would I. Just not sure which platform I'll end up with and that's the main objection I have right now.

-edit-

@XDelusion: Yeah, wish I would have kept my eMac now. She was mint too. Looks like the MacMini is really the way to go, but I have a B/W G3 Powermac w/ the 1.1GHZ upgrade (that I could throw a 400mhz G4 into if I wanted) and access to all sorts of other olden PowerMac G4's, including that cute little MacCube deal. lol  She's a lowly 400mhz too, but for what you can get 'em for. Same with those sexy iMac G4's. Those went up to 1.5Ghz IIRC. Now that would be the makes for a cool MorphOS computer  :)

Well if you can't transfer your license from one Mac to another, then I'd say stray way from the eMac as that monitor will not live forever, thus making support for it less appealing after all. :/

Very offputtuing. I'd seriously consider MOS but not if its locked to one piece of old and potentially short lifespan kit.

If I buy Windows I am now tied to one PC with no option to use my Windows licence on another machine!

Sort it out MOS guys!! :(

Of course you can transfer your license if your machine dies! It's a known fact.

That is only true with OEM licenses and upgrades.

Tempting but man, it's still pricey for a hobbyist OS. :/

Well it has been stated that if a computer dies, they will allow a transfer to another system. This is done by direct contact for proof of computer death, but it is done.

I'd trust this to be true. My biggest fear is the MorphOS team "pulling a Holger Cruse" one day and then having the computer fail. There is no indication at this time they would ever do such a thing.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!
