1) Notifications of forum posts include thread title in the subject line.
2) Edited posts count as new posts. They could at least mention the time/date which editing happened. Otherwise it's a bit like INGSOC from 1984.
3) the 'merely curious' are often more knowledgeable in amiga matters than 'defender of the faith's. (they actually know stuff and don't just waste all their time chatting). So maybe a score where other users vouch for an individuals credibility.
