Title: Problem logging in (and *keep logged in*) @amiga.org?
Post by: takemehomegrandma on October 11, 2013, 09:43:30 PM
There is some stupid (but probably easily fixed) bug at amiga.org ATM, that prevents you from being remained as logged in. At least this is the case for me! ;)

Yes, I log out every time (from every site) after visiting. As one should do! :)

This however makes it difficult to re-enter amiga.org at the moment. :(

Here is a solution: Click on "Quote" on *any* post in any forum (doesn't matter which post, you can cancel this as soon as you have logged in). If you are not logged in (which you aren't), then this action will take you to a login page that has a "remember me" check box/selector underneath the text fields. Click that (and fill in login and password of course)! Then log in!

This should do it, until the site admins bothers to fix the problem!

:)

Why don't you just tick the box underneath your username at the top right of the main page to stay logged in like everyone else does?

OK, you mean that "register or have you forgotten your password" box?

OK, I seriously didn't know that this was the same thing (after all, I haven't forgot my password and I always felt I was a registered user, so I never really *looked* at that).

Well, a UI design improvement IMHO would be to correct that in the following ways:

1) Directly below the login fields, put a "Did you forget your password" link
2) Below that, place a "Remember Me" checkbox.

Or maybe switch those two?

Yeah that's the one. Terrible UI but once ticked you never have to do it again.

Using a password manager, no problems at all.
