AskReddit: Commodore USA has my money - I have no computer. They won't communicate. What are my options?

Not defending CUSA.. but I can honestly say that I have sent them 3emails asking for information on the Vic computer line with no reply.  I posted on Commodore-Amiga.net and got a reply.  CUSA is I believe changing websites and not sure if emails are getting through.
I just assume CUSA is very busy atm, and probably a little bit understaffed?? I'm just passing on what I know.  Be patient, I guess is all I can really say.  Try to take a deep breath, I know easy for me to type, but you will get your machine I am sure of it.
But there really is no excuse for them not responding to a "paid" customer.  What model did you buy??

They've been changing websites for months.

Both websites share the same email address. So it's not even a case of sending an email to one site not getting through to them. We have seen their response to both potential and actual customer queries. So not responding to emails is no big surprise really.

I did not know, interesting.

I just figured things were moving along a CUSA.  Retail stores, this "big announcement" coming soon etc. etc.

I have been in contact with OP regarding this issue. He is currently supposedly going to receive his computer finally, though it is not in his hands at the moment. If he updates the status I will post a reply.
Thanks friends.

Another talking head forums account of C-USA.  You do realize that the fire is going to get so big on the poor experience on the user end, you simply won't be able to snuff it, right?  I've read dozens of bad experiences with these products and this company on your own forums, and it all gets swept under the rug on your forums.  Threads removed, users banned.  Remember that guy that bought a C64x and his wifi wouldn't work, and his system was too physically hot to even touch?  I am sure he remembers it clearly.

That's what LLC's are for, I guess.

Welcome to A.org!

I was really surprised when I saw "C64x Reviewed By Tom's Hardware" on the commodore-amiga.org home page.

Then I realized that the review wasn't a review.

Burn your self in front of their HQ. Frie `em and do world a favour. Give up :-)

Next famous line is their final answer on current sales:

It looks like a news. From Toms Hardware expected that they test it against some similarly priced x86 system(s).

Yea sure, it's just one incident. The real shocker here is that someone actually shelled out $1500 for one of these things?. What the hell is wrong with these people?.

The same thing that's wrong with people who will pay $3000 USD for the 7 year old technology in an X1000....it's called stupidity.

We are in agreement there!. I don't think I would have paid $3000 for an A4000 back when they were state of the art!. I think the netbook they are talking about putting out and second hand Mac's for MorphOS is much more realistic for most of the folks here.

I think you are wrong. Those are not the same things.

Think what you will.  Sorry, but I call them like I see them.  There's nothing intelligent about spending $3000 on as-yet unreleased hardware that is based on 2004 technology (beta test hardware aside).  It might make sense if this was an antique business, but this isn't the antique business.  It's about technology.

@ferrelsl

There's a massive difference between spending  $1500 on a bog standard PC in a pretty case (and not receiving it, it seems) and spending $3000 on low-volume custom hardware.

We know you don't like the X1000 - but calling people stupid just because their priorities are different to yours? Come on.

The X1000 is to some people worth the money. It's not to you, so don't buy it, that's fine. But please appreciate that other people have different priorities - calling them stupid is not the way.
