Interview with Coyote Flux
« on: April 10, 2002, 10:20:17 AM »
We have a new and very interesting GFX-BASE interview for you: This time we talked to the software-group 'Coyote Flux' responsible for great software like CoyoteSound or the PPC SNES emu SuperAmicon. The guys from Coyote Flux told us new facts about their latest project J Miner, a software, which uses video streams to create a complete corrected two and 3D model of the surface. They also reveal that they have a G3/G4 Amiga-based supercomputer and this is no joke!

Click here to read the interview.

"G3/G4 Amiga-based supercomputer (sorry, cannot expose any details) - 128MB RAM - USB - Firewire - 52x IDE CDROM - AGP graphic board - runs special enhanced version of AmigaOS with extra features

- We are currently working on a secret Amiga-based hardware project which takes up most of the time, although this is too confidential, so we cannot tell you anything yet. Just wait and see...(of course we wanted to know more about this project, but Coyote Flux told us that this is a very private project, still they will release some informations themselves soon! - ed) "

Hmm ... wonder what they're up too ...

There's a link to bplan in the thendic-france website....
I think the "supercomputer" is simply pegasos and the "enhanced version of AmigaOS" is MorphOS.

Hmm I wonder what it is. They said they would release some info about it soon.

No, we prefer the Pegasos. It is a well-engineered machine and it has plenty more and better implemented features.

Ammm ok.

They say that they hate AmigaDE - without saying why. Yet they go on to mention that they are working on some windows API emulation technology..... Hmmmmm...... SO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN USING DE/AA!!!! either way you have maintained a compatible code base!

Sheesh..... what do these people want to do. Keep us back by 10 years?

I agree on the fact that they should give a reason why they do not like AmigaDE.

Strange people! First:
Quote
G3/G4 Amiga-based supercomputer (sorry, cannot expose any details) - 128MB RAM - USB - Firewire - 52x IDE CDROM - AGP graphic board - runs special enhanced version of AmigaOS with extra features
then:

Although sometimes it is hard to understand how easy the community believes press reports
(I think they're talking of A Inc press releases).
And then they want us to believe their $#@!?

And AmigaOne isn't??? Are the implemented features MorphOS support? :-P :-P :-P   Man, AOne has everything on board that could and should be put on board. That's the machine for OS4! And I think, this is their problem!

I wait for the AmigaOne, OS4 then OS5 and then DE.

FYI: thendic.de has still the information that thendic is developing AmigaDE powered device ...

IIRC, MOS does not support multiprocessing yet, even though there is the option to build it in the OS without breaking anything.

but VP does support multiprocessing...

Makes you wonder...

It's sad to comment on stuff you have no idea about
too.

MorphOS does support all the implemented features
and SMP can be used outside the ABox.

Either you like it or not we will have 2 competitors,
your MOS bashing (same for aos4 bashing) doesn't
change anything. Only if Hyperion or bPlan goes down we'll have one OS.

It's implemented in the Quark kernel. It's not that
easy to make it work in exec you know. You'll
probably have to rewrite the exec scheduler.
That is not a problem of course... Anyway, rendering
ups etc could run their renderer outside of the abox
anyway (AFAIK)...

Why do you bash MorphOS and praise INTeNT?
You can say that OS4 is more "Amiga" than
MorphOS. And you can also say that the only
"Amiga" thing INTeNT has is the name Amiga...
MorphOS runs Amiga apps under a native AmigaOS
environment called ABox. VP can't run AOS apps
and really has no relation with AmigaOS...
