Au1100™ Processor From AMD
« on: April 09, 2002, 03:08:15 AM »
AMD today announced the introduction of the Alchemy™ Au1100™ processor, targeting the non-PC mobile internet appliance market, such as web pads, telematics, and PDAs. Currently being sampled, the innovative Au1100 offers an industry-leading combination of high performance, low power and high integration.

The Au1100 processor builds upon the successful Alchemy Au1 core, which is based on a MIPS32™ instruction set.

Does anyone know how hard it will be to make AmigaAnywhere work on this?   Intent will run on MIPS R3/4/5xxx according to Tao's info.

i am not an expert, but i think MIPS is almost a standart in the embeded market, so i don't think it will be very hard to make AA work on it. after all, many PDAs use MIPS, and AA works on many PDAs... but as i said i am not an expert so don't count on it :-)

I don't think that Intend pay any notice to what processor the system hasand if it does, I would belive that's it's only amatter of months before Amiga Inc has a updated Intend, that works with it. ;-)  ;-)

Woah, do ya think they saw my post about removing the x86 emulation from their CPUs to see what would happen? :-D

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -
