Someone might find some use in this. It's for both Mac and PC, but the Mac version is still PPC, which is a boon for MorphOS peeps that dual boot.

Cheers.

I've long since dropped PS in favour of Paint.NET, since it's perfectly adequate for my needs, but it's about time they did this.  Now people just starting out in graphic design can get their feet wet without pirating CS.  I hope schools are on top of this.

Yup. I just updated to CS6, but it always annoyed me that Adobe was so greedy with their products. Macromedia wasn't like that. Shame they got bought out.

While most Adobe software is rather bloatware I really like Illustrator and InDesign. Will put those on my OS X partitition.

Aparently Adobe made a booboo when shutting down the activation servers for CS2. These files are only for owners of CS2 and are not free to the general public. Seems the cat is out of the bag now though as the serials and direct links are widely available

Well, I doubt Adobe was too concerned about students pirating their products, as Adobe is earning the same for a pirated CS6 as they are for this free CS2.

Personally, I think Adobe was getting concerned that people WEREN'T pirating their products, anymore.  The kids in school weren't learning on pirated Photoshop.  Pirating Photoshop was more pain than it's worth.  They were learning on Gimp or other free or cheap alternatives, instead.  Failing to hook people on the entry level was starting to hurt Adobe's bottom line in lost sales later.  Hook 'em early, then reel 'em in to pay later when they can afford it is a smart strategy.  A lot smarter than trying to strong-arm a $1000 package on someone who can't pay it, and then wondering why they resent you later.

Well, they did have student discounts and 'lite' versions of PS at various times, but the ubiquity of pirated CS certainly does help them remain the standard.

Of course, that could also be Adobe's strategy.  Dominance through incompetence.  That also sounds like them.  :D

We can measure that incompetence by waiting to see how long it takes them to change the published file link paths... I'll be surprised if they bother (where's the tinfoil hat icon?)

Try to activate my CS2 over the web and it did not work, so I found a serial generator and did it myself.
Tried the link and it's not working anymore.

The direct file links are still working and plenty of bloggers published the serial numbers. You found a keygen that isn't riddled with malware? they must be getting sloppy!

Keep in mind that Apple dropped Rosetta support so you'll also need an older copy OSX to run this CS2

I still use 7.0 :) so the PC version would still be an upgrade for me.

Found it, downloading just in case for future reload. The keygen I used was recognized as virus, I'm not sure if it was real, but I used VirtualPC to generate the response key for my s/n.

It's a nice one, 6.5 years in use and moved from XP via Vista to Win7 laptop, still works.
