False. There are similar 3d engines though.

To my knowlege this is false. Most doom ports require at least KS 3.0, but there is no reason why it couldn't be made to work with KS 2.0 at least.

The 2 best Amiga Doom ports are ADoom and DoomAttack - see Aminet. There were others, but they appear to have vanished.

Popular Doom clones are Fears, Gloom, and Alien Breed 3D.

Wolfenstein3D was ported to OS4, but never publically released.

Quake and Quake 2 have also been ported to the Amiga.

There is an Amiga 68k port (http://www.aminet.net/game/shoot/Wolfenstein3D.lha) and MorphOS port (http://www.aminet.net/game/shoot/Wolfenstein_3D_MOS.tgz) but they wouldn't work on an A1000 (needs a minimum of 'an 020 for the 68k version).

At least if you're talking about the original Wolf3D game?

Sorry to be blunt, but you can pretty much forget running anything 3d on your A500.

Tried WinUAE?

.
For the DOOM ports AGA is not compulsory, but you need at least 68020 processor and 4MB RAM. I played Doom some years ago on accelerated A600 (with 68030 and 2MB ChipRAM 8MB FAST) and on A1200 with 4MB FastRAM. Not that fast, but playable nevertheless. Of couse if you have more RAM - the better - you can copy the wad files to the RAM and run the game from there, which speeds up the game significally.
Quake - I saw it on A1200 with 68060 and AGA and it was slow and with low resolution.

First, buy an A1200 :-). You can connect to Internet with PCMCIA, have an HD, Kickstar 3.0, AGA...

Second, I think there is a Doom clone for A500, it's name is Citadel. Don't expect to play it at full screen :-D

Are the games on that web site really legal, somehow I doubt it. Actually, what am I saying, this site is illeagal. To my knowledge, games like 'Manian Mansion' and 'Leisure Suit Larry'  are still under copyright and all that.

@Piru

I believe there was a version of ADoom that ran on an ECS Amiga with 2.1 *if* you had a 68040.  Not that that helps much for an A500, as there's probably only ever been one 68040 board for it that I've heard of (PP&S).

As for a stock A500 and 3D games, didn't Citadel and Death Mask run?

There is a port of Wolfenstein for a 4MB Atari 1040STe (which has only an 8MHz 68000) so it may be possible to get it to work and even playable on an A500 with some fast ram.
