Hoping there is a stand-alone linux version that does not need Mac or Windows.

I been using Ubuntu Gnome for years on my i7 box.... hate windows because I have very very very bad internet hear with limited data allowance and can't afford anything of windows nature on my system that takes all my data in one hour.  LOL.

And prefer to leave my Mac as is.

But if a linux version of AmiKit X is available, I may remove Ubuntu Gnome from my i7 box and become a AmiKit owner and user!

Thanks

TJ

Windows and Mac first. Linux version maybe later if someone's willing to port it. I am not a Linux user.

I'd love to see a nice clean way to install it on a real amiga. Amikit real is nice, but something like BetterWB way of installing would be so great.

I have 8.5 on my win/tel. It's okay.

What I have always wanted is an AMIGA laptop. Still have high hopes for A.L.I.C.E.

10.12 and yup installed the xQuartz version listed in the docs. Nothing else crashes on my Mac like this. I've even tried to run another app through Whine and it works. Its WinUAE crashing it seems. I cant even run that if I try to install it separately from this.

In a thread on EAB Toni said WinUAE won't work properly (even on windows) without installing this.

Worth a shot to try installing it inside the wine bottle that amikit uses.

I wish AmiKit would use it. I can install the older version into it and it works quite well this way. I am not sure why the choice to use Wine was made other than ease or portability during the creation of the packages.
