Mobile Wise: Wireless power charger
« on: November 10, 2002, 08:57:13 AM »
MobileWise had announced new "Charger Pad" that can charge certain notebook  and PDA without any power connector.

Acer, and several computer vendors plan to install the equipments on the battery pack (2003).  Several furniture vendors plan to install the device on their desk product.

Is it possible to use the device with future Amiga hardware?

Hi
I received reply that the basic principle is "Inductive Coupling" and used on "Electric Bus" project  in German.

Using "Charging Pad",  it is possible to build electric bus with simple engine (no fuel cell/hybrid etc) and less battery (less weight). The charging pads are put on the bus pool and most bus stops.

Article on Inductive Coupling

Charging pads are suitable for airport lobby, airlines, hotels etc. There is no problem with various voltage (110 V /220 V), electric connectors, bulky charger etc.
