CPU Clock ???
« on: May 16, 2016, 12:53:33 AM »
Hi All, I seem be having some problem, could be my CPU Clock? Right now whenever I run an animation, like with a Blitzblank module.  The Anim seems to halt then go, halt then go. I just ran the Juggette Anim and got the same issue.  Halt then go, Halt then go,like that. Any Ideas?
Thanks
Brad Hansen

likely something installed in your startup-sequence causing you an issue. CPU crystals either work or don't work but typically don't run sporadically...

You sure you have the oomph to be playing whatever particular animation?  Could be some program running in the background hogging CPU cycles, or a lousy anim player, insufficient memory, lots of things.  Try lowering the resolution or booting with no startup-sequence and running it that way.  Does it work then?

It's definitely not your oscillator.  ;)

Thanks Mike, it's funny you would talk about the Ocillator
because I just bought that 40 Mhz 030 chip on ebay and switched it out along with the Occillator. But I will run through your suggestions and see what gives.  Have plenty of ram 32 megs and and free chip ram 1.6 after startup so I
don't think it anything like that.

You need to break this problem down into smaller pieces.  Did the animations play fine before you replaced these components?

Mike, You know I was playing flashback two days ago and that animation played
fine.  So I think I will attack the startup script.
Thanks
