Yes, yes it does. C= users don't have unrealistic expectations of "tEH NEW cOMMODORE!!1". They make due with the original hardware and push it as far as they can

Damn, I've never had a C64, nor have I ever used one (well, maybe at a friends house when I was very little, but not for as far as I can remember), but seeing all this nifty little C64 hardware stuff really makes me think about buying one!

Especially those sample mp3s on the Prophet64 site make me really want to have one. Saves me buying a real 303 which I will probably only use for 15% of it's possibilities :-)

And now I'm definitely going to order a Prophet64, since I just bought myself a C64, which I will pick up tomorrow!
I only have to learn from scrap how to use one of those machines :lol:

Now, what's a good website/forum to grab a lot of info on the C64?

Moto, I have a breadbox C64 lying around gathering dust, it's yours for the postage.
I have no idea of the condition of the SID chip, but from what I remember (couple of years back) the unit powered up fine.

I think I have two actually, although iirc one is missing some keys.

You'll need these two books...

Commodore 64 Programmer's Reference Guide
Commodore 64 User's Guide
and maybe a thrid...
Commodore 1541 Disk Drive User's Guide

Those will have all you need to keep you busy and happy for a long while. You may get the 64 user's guide with your C64, the other two can be found used at ebay, maybe lemon64.com or perhaps Redrumloa has some spares lying around.

Here's an online scan of the Programmer's Guide, but I don't know how complete it is. Lots of good info non the less.

Commodore 64 Programmers Reference Guide

You should be able to do searches and find tons of example code programs and articles on the net to help too..
