i was thinking of writing a few small RTG compliant & WBSCreen games, to put on aminet, i have a few ideas of my own, but im interested to know if anyone else has any cool ideas for smallish games? preferably really unique ones? any original ideas?
puzzle, 80's style arcade etc...
some sort of game youve seen on a nother platform, you would like to see on AmigaOS 4?
-
This is not even remotely original but I'd like to see versions of Columns or Puzzle Bobble (Bust-a-Move).
Those games can kill an hour or two any day. :-)
-
Splinter cell! ;-)
-
An up to date version of the C64 classic Wizard of Wor!!!!!!!!! :-D . Give Unreal Tournament a run for its money :-D .
-
How about a REAL RTG version of solitare. No bloody AGA. No bloody
ECS.A real RTG version, sick of ECS and have plenty of RTG options.

"The Last Ninja" (I think it was called) an rpg on C64 a cool but massively frustrating game.
-
Half-Life and MOD :-(
-
Theres a nice version of Wizard of war called "Monsters of terror" on Aminet. It's AGA only though. It has great gfx and sfx..
http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/aminetbin/find?monsters
monsters10aga.lha game/shoot 561K 375 Multitasking WizardOfWor, 1-4 Players, AGA

Small and simple counts out the games I like, Japanese style RPGs!
Beyond that, a wb-bust-a-move would be a lot of fun.
How about a workbench friendly Klondike game, that can really use the old reko cardsets?

actually i was thinking about that!!!
i think it would be bloody awesome!
especialy networked!
ill probably get to work on that soon, it seems easy to program
p.s. no 3D, i cant do 3D!! :-)

Please PLEASE port Jetpack (http://www.adeptsoftware.com/jetpack/) !
-
i would like an updates Armour Geddon game. now that would be cool.

Arkanoid... Now hang in there one second!! I know we've got one but don't give up on me yet.
Here (www.eongames.com) is a game called "Bust Em'" for the Sharp Zaurus. It's an Arkanoid clone with a few differences.
Ones I would like to point out that I think are superb:
1. You can move your paddle up & down enabling you to hit the ball harder (faster) or softer (slower), the height you can move is determined by a "force field" that moves up & down with power ups
2. Blocks are all sorts of sizes & shapes
3. When you hit the blocks they smash.. no, Bust! into their respective pixels -Smaller blocks less debris- landing at the bottom of the screen therefore giving you less space to move (The faster you destroy the level, the less debris you get)
4. Shaped walls so the ball bounces all over the table
5. VERY partically. Dots flyin around everywhere. Quite spectacular to watch.
There's loads more but you can't just "copy" a game can you ;-)
It really is a super game, I guess it would help to see it moving. I was thinking of doing it myself too but I then realised that I can't program :-D I made gfx for games but they never moved ;-)
Oh & the choice between its own screen or window on WB would be nice as well as a backdrop option (Mainly for its own screen.
Good luck with whatever you do though.

Gauntlet ,chaos engine etc...this is the way :))
(with NETWORK support ofcourse) 1->4 players
Super Sprint/badlands/dreamcars/indy heat/super offroad remake for WB would have been AWESOME , ofcourse with tcp/ip
Kickstart 1 or 2 ?? :)
A nice tetris one with tcp ip....or what ever, tou i would love a BAM clone if it was great!.
but on the top of the list..... An adventure game :)
anyway , if you want succes , then port Deluxe galaga to RTG (ppc) ...a sure winner :) (or the sequel.... WARBLADE)
good luck!

Flightsims!

Same-Game! That game steals hours...
-
Something like:
International Karate
Puzzle Fighter
Bust-a-move
Bishi Bashi :roflmao: (BishiAmiBashi)
Shufflepuck caffe
Mahjong (Shangai)
and something like MUGEN! I would liketo se that!
Damn, I have crazy ideas for BishiAmiBashi! :-D
@Targhan
There will be Japanese style RPGs. I'm working on one,
gfx for eVe.
-
A game like tanx or worms could be cool. Where each player takes turn to try to blow the opponent to bits. In this game its not about how great the graphic is... no no no its how many weapons you can throw at your opponent
-
Kuru Kuru Kururin for GBA is the DOPEST!
Not to forget VIB RIBBON on the PSX!
Both are quite basic games, should be reasonably
easy to port, and there is nothing like it on the Amiga.
Give 'em a thought!

After playing PC version of Gridrunner I feel definite need to get Jeff Minter (and rest of LLamasoft) to work for Amigas (including MOS) ... He's the best.
-
hummm......lets see....cybervision 64 3d, 060/50Mhz and 118 Megs of ram, 40 Gb Hard drive......PONG!!! yes thats it, Pong, I am sure that the Amiga can handle that.
Sorry for seeming so harsh, but it is amazing to see some of the desires other people have for games to be ported to the amiga. Not being a programmer myself, I would appreciate any game that will show off the capabilities of my system to the max, bringing Amiga games out of 16 bit world (or more like the 8 bit rut amiga games are in) and into the 32 bit world.
-
I'll guess they (we?) all take into account that making a game that really uses all the power of the A1 is a very time consuming task.
but I really like the idea of the game Gauntlet running with an Amiga 3D engine. :)
-
If only we could get places which make games for other platforms on our side!
If all goes well we will.

Someone has just mentioned a Tanx or Worms game & this hit me. It had COMPLETELY slipped my mind.
A Game called "Death Tank Zwei". Originally a secret game on "Duke Nukem 3D" on the Saturn & NOWHERE else.
AWESOME! As is the case with a lot of GOOD games don't be fooled by the gfx it's slicker than your average leaky tanker (NO offence global preserver peeps :-) )
Have a look here http://users2.ev1.net/~belpowerslave/deathtank.html for some info.
It's basically a tank type game only instead of taking turns, you all just fire together. There's a little "ready to shoot" bar that gradually fills after you fire (It takes differing amounts of time to fill depending on the weapon you have collected) then you can shoot again.
It's such an addictive game it's sick.
Now we don't exactly have the multi-tap of the Sega Saturn but online play would just kill the competition.
ANYWAY, do you have any ideas yet? I take it you're looking for "simple but effective" to start with.
Keep us posted with any progress or decisions you make.

i have SO many ideas.... trouble is i start on one, get bored then do another!
so this time i really will get one finished!
it will probably be easier to start with somthing simple...
i probably will try a tank/scorched earth type game
BTW as i mentioned before, i dont do 3D!!!
:-)
-
:-)
Great, I hope it goes well for you.
If there's anything I can help with, just holler ;-)
-
I have also a couple of ideas of a "fun" games - I have no time to implement them because I have my own projects :-D
Someone make BoozeField / WineSweeper game where your mission is to step on the field avoiding bottles. If you step on one, you get drunken and your aiming goes hard :-P In the end you either survive or get die because of promilles..
Other one: Lemmings meet Pinball. Those furries try to escape to the "void" (suicide) while your mission is to hit them back to the top by using flippers :) Hilarious.
BTW: test AmiBlocks from Aminet and tell me your opinion, please! ;-)

"i have SO many ideas.... trouble is i start on one, get bored then do another!"
Hehe, this sounds just like me.. ;) I've been working too and from on an Army Builder for the WarHammer 40.000 tabletop game and some days its fun, and other day it's hell... I probably create things that would take 2 weeks in about 12 months... ;)
