YouTube Amiga video
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:19:40 AM »
Hi having only ever owned an Amiga 1200 for the last three weeks, i was amazed at the qaulity of the graphics and indeed the sound, so much that i thought i would have ago at capturing the pics of the games from my Amiga 1200 and try to produce a video using iclone 4, you may know some of the games, others i have distorted a little , i had brilliant fun making the video, some pics are not too clear, as it is difficult taking shots off a monitor, its all good fun, heres the link for youtube if you are bored or sad lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPCyfbJ8yNw      ps seems to play better in hd

I am curious about what brought you to the amiga, if you never owned one ?

Or did you mean you never owned a 1200 specifically?

Cheers!

Hi ,no i never owned an Amiga, but always liked older stuff, like the minidisc players ,which have a brilliant sound compared to ipods ,i spoke to a guy from Sony the other week ,and he was of the same opinion,An mp3 is a empty sound compared to minidiscs Atrac format, but now the Amiga has a sound which my windows 7 pc cant produce, maybe its because of the Paula chip,if that is correct which gives out an amazingly warm tune that is a joy to listen too and hard to reproduce, then theres the graphics awesome and how come the Amiga can do so much with so little,so in answer to your question i have a friend who wanted something i had,and asked if we could do an exchange for something he had ,and at the time i thought i was doing him a favour,by accepting some rubbish in an old suitcase that had sat in his loft/attic for years ,and so the love affair began and the Amiga commands a place in my home and outshines the so called best ,i can hear the pc lovers shouting rubbish, but remember when you are pushing the buttons on your windows 7 theres millions of you all producing the same sounds ,whilst the Amiga has so much more to give, best wishes Mrmoonlight:):):):):):)

but now the Amiga has a sound which my windows 7 pc cant produce,

that will be the 8 bit resolution sampling depth, compared to today's 16/32/64 + bits. you can reproduce quite accurately the sound of the amiga's Paula using most PC audio packages. you just will not hear it as standard on PCs.

The amiga did not do anything which a modern PC cannot reproduce or do better. But having said that, owning a real Amiga and learning how to use a computer from the Amiga's era is the best thing in the world for geeks and nerds like us.

Welcome to the world of Amiga!

'tis indeed true the Amiga has a nowadays outdated audio system. But nowadays still I am impressed by the high quality synthesizer sounds my Amiga 500 makes.

Hi pc v Amiga  is not what i really intended ,but i still think the Amiga sound has some thing the pc sound will never have ,the recording i took for this video was recorded straight from the Amiga which gave it warmth and body unlike the weak everything taken out of it sound the pc produces ,again the Amiga produced a strong powerful close knit sound that gave the feeling the band was straight in your face , not lost in space as pc so often produces ,my feelings wright or wrong ,best wishes Brian:):)
