Hired Guns (loved those automatic turrets!)
Dynablaster (especially when you could lay loads of bombs in a line)
Championship Manager (zoiks! morning already!)
Alien Breed (the tension of getting back out)
Kick Off 2/Sensible Soccer (the madness of Screech)
Bubble Bobble/Quak/Parasol Stars (cute but addictive)
Lotus III/Supercars 2 (awesome mp racing games)
Brutal Sports/Speedball 2 (thumb blistering games)

Seeing dogfight reminds me of:

Bip (or biplane)

and that reminds me of the PD classic Knights!

Was Defender of the Crown really multiplayer? I never played that with anyone else.

Hoya!

By multiplayer, I thought you meant more than TWO players...

Of course, SpeedBall 2 is one of the GREATEST and most ADDICTIVE Amiga games!!!!!!!

Bubble Bobble/Rainbow Islands/Parasol Stars
SILKWORM!!!!!!!!! Played it HOURS with a friend of mine
And he was always taunting me because I could not finish it... Of course, HE played with the heli while I played with the jeep... :-)

SWIV is nice too, but the feeling is slightly different anyway.

And all these GREAT coin-op conversions: MERCS, Final Fight and so on... I agree, the Amiga version of Double Dragon is pathetic... :-/

Some Null-modem cable games that I've tested:

-Falcon F-16 (a great simulator for its time, and great fun playing against another person).
-Stunt car racer (this time I had the 2nd Amiga plugged to a GameGear LCD TV-Set 8-) ).

-Super Skidmarks 2
-Gravity Force 2
-Alien Breed: Tower Assault (the dark stores levels were the best fun with 2 people playing trying to get out before selfdestruct!)
-Gloom
-Sensible Soccer!!!!

And then there are countless shareware multiplayer games I loved. eg. Extreme Violence (it's not that extreme, don't worry), Llamatron, and more. :-D

Stuntcar Race was cool with 2 computers!
F16:Combat Pilot with 2 computers.
Super Skidmarks
The Settlers
Armourgeddon 1&2 was my favourate I think. I never once got a chance to have a full game though. Always had problems. I wish there was a new version!

Hoya!

Yes!!! ArmourGeddon! I really like this game, although I play it more for the fun factor than for actually trying to complete it... It is way too hard but I think it is quite a revolutionnary game in its own right... Never played it linked though.
Also, I have never seen any screenshot of AG2. Is it as good or better?

BTW, I played, for SEVERAL hours, with the same mate I played Silkworm, a shoot'em up called Plutos. OK, I played it mostly on my Atari ST but I have it now on Amiga too... It was a very simple game but INCREDIBLY addictive for some reason.

Be funky

I think the game i had the most fun with in this genre would be North and South. you got to control calvary, riflemen, and cannons on the battle field, take over forts by quick side scrolling action, and rob trains to take gold away from the other guy and it was all arcade action

Actually the best multi-game I remembered was back in '89. Long before I had an Amiga(c64 was my machine). We rented it on a shop and played it for hours on an A1000 with my friend. Very nice basketball game!

It was Dr. J. vs. Larry Bird. (one on one) by EA i guess.

Good day to all Amigans!  :-D

Too bad you could not use two joysticks in North & South - the player using keyboard had no chance in scrolling action. It was most fun when you had to control cavalry, riflemen and cannons at same time and avoid rivers/canyons and enemy fire... :-D

Kick Off 2 is still the champ. Gaming events on KO2 happen every month worldwide.

Other excellent 2p games are:

Super Cars II
TV Sports Basketball
IK+
Speedball 2
Worms/WormsDC

The place to be if you love Kick Off 2

I can't think of a single game that makes use of a PARnet cable.

There are some games that make use of a DataLink cable.  It is a Serial cable with the same connector on each end for DataLinking 2 Amigas together.  The best Datalinkable game is Stunt Car Racer.

Most Multiplayer Amiga games are Multiplayer on the same machine with 2 Joysticks like Gravity Force, or 4 Joysticks with an inexpensive 4-Player-Adapter like Leathernecks or Hired Guns.  Or just good old fashioned taking turns like Total Chaos AGA.
Wanna try a wonderfull strategy game with lots of handdrawn anims,
Magic Spells and Monsters, Incredible playability and lastability,
English speech, etc. Total Chaos AGA
