I have had a blizzard 1260/50 for a few weeks now, I keep hearing things about various prorgams like cyberpatcher and blizzkick, could someone give me a list of all the tweaks I can install for it and how.
Quake is very unplayable, i'm using the default clickboom version from the CD, is there any other releases that are quicker?
Thanks.

I got a A1260 a few weeks back too, and I've got cyberpatcher running (altough I can't really see what that does!!)
I'd be grateful for any tips too!!
Cheers,
AndyC

Try AmigaQuake w/o and with Cyberpatcher and you see...

I think this is the last time I post in the gaming section :-D
AndyC, I'm going to try out some replacement libraries and blizkick, i'll post how I get on.

What does cyberpatcher do and can I use it on a Cyberstorm MKIII 060?

Some instructions in the 040 chip are not present in the 060 chip. Therefore the 060 has to emulate them either internally or via a library. Not sure how it works, but it is much slower. During actual runtime, CyberPatcher patches the instructions of the software you are using to use real 060 instructions rather than emulated ones. Thus, it speeds up execution.
I tried CyberPatch on my CS MKIII 060 and it made my system very unstable.
I have since started using Oxyron Patcher (which basically does the same thing as CyberPatcher), and it appears to work very well (and stable, too)!
