Should be a simple template edition, but please...  Add it to the Bug tracker so I don't forget it, and I'll see what I can do.

OK, done :)

@Cammy

Yes... when you are logged out you have "Today's Posts" with this link http://www.amiga.org/forums/search.php?do=getdaily

and when logged in it is changed to "New Posts" which is http://www.amiga.org/forums/search.php?do=getnew

So bookmark the logged out version. ;)

Ed: I've just discovered Today's Posts is also under Quick Links... :)

Thanks for pointing that out! So, how come we can't just have a link to "Today's Posts" on the site when you ARE logged in? The "New Posts" link is useless when it only shows one or two results, why not replace ONE of the TWO "New Posts" links with a "Today's Posts" link and make everyone happy? Notice there is one link at the top of the page and another on the side?

Now, in every forum post, on the dropdown from clicking on their name, registered users (not anonymous) should see "See $username's Gallery"

Damn it, you're way too fast

@Cammy,

Edited post.  Upon Review, ?do=newposts was replaced with ?do=getdaily for everyone, so "New Posts" is now the same screen for everyone.

In my opinion remove the login frame from the top page and just leave the space on the upper right corner.
When logged, in the home page, always remove the frame with avatar and personal info from the top page, and place the same in the upper right corner (with avatar and other relevant info as well - more than now).
The "Welcome block" as it's called, has been deactivated.  If you still see it (and you shouldn't), customize the page to remove it.

Quote
Remove the popular tags frame as default.
Actually, I remembered WHY that's there.  That's there both for the users to work with and quickly find a topic (click A1200 to see all A1200 threads), but *also* and in a way, more importantly, for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).  Makes us popular.  We like popular.  Popular is fun.

I like the new site. I can not say much about it. I am not a web site designer.
I kind of miss the old site, but not a whole lot, I hope the new technology or software is better for Amiga.org

I do not know if this is right so  here goes.
I am refering to sites in general.
We have
chat,
video conferencing,
blogging,
video services like youtube,
email,
flash games,
office apps,
and picture albums.

I am not for sure exactly how to use these to promote the Amiga.
I hope it may help someone.
I think it would be nice to have a virtual Amiga Desktop to show off the Amiga.
I do not know if that would be beneficial, maybe just nostalgic.
Amiga 2000 Forever :)
Welcome to the Planar System.

Actually on the old site they appeared below the Amiga ones.  So you had a list of new Amiga/Computer posts followed by a list of new Coffeehouse posts.  As it is now you don't see new coffeehouse posts at all...

Quote from: GadgetMaster;510852
That was intentional. People were complaining that the coffee house forums were showing up whereas on the old site they didn't so the site was brought in line with what people were used to.

I could just turn off that whole box, but only if everyone agreed.

I liked that panel (mainly to see the number of posts since my last visit, and click then that link to view them), but now it is gone, it does not even appears on the right side :(

IHMO, i don't see why any such panel/box should be removed from the code, since we the users can remove it to our wishes by using the 'customize page' section...

That apart, i don't have any "hate" complain to do, i like a lot the new site :)

well, while posting this, i had to add the ognix's quote manually since it wasn't done automatically clicking the "Quote" button.. just a minor issue..

whatever, keep up the good work

With apologies, the old "new posts" page was a custom written module (from me).  The new site doesn't provide a way to segment like that natively, and if we custom changed it, it'd have to be rewritten every time a new version came out (something we're trying to avoid).

I can certainly add Coffee House discussions back to the new posts page if you'd like.

Actually, I stand corrected.  Since I changed "new posts" to "Today's Posts", the CH discussions are showing up there.

Hi.  I like the site.  I like most stuff new since it moves things ocasionally.

Advances if lucky.  All I can hear and see is it was a great turn to do so.  And since this is a community site I claim to be part of, I'm ended up really happy here.

But I'm a lazy pal.  I buy and use out-of-the-box stuff.  Almost never touch preferencess unless crucial.  Now I got many things to sort out here to myself, also check many new features.  So my only suggestion is to provide/a link / tutorial to this brand new CMS system (I mean just a rare system).  A pdf file attached would be nice.

Oh - one more.  An OFFICIAL new site anouncement on the MorphZone (as long as MOS catalog is included as discussed recently).

Cheers!  Someone should give Wayne a raise
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

I think Amiga.org has really come a long way and appreciate very much having an amiga place to visit. I do agree with Cammy though, I wish it showed more new posts like it used to. Oh, you fixed it already, wow that's great, thanks.

While i *begin* to like this site (again) while using my sam and OWB I'm still not happy with a "quick browse" to amiga.org using my trusty OS3.9 systems. The fully fledged version is known to be creativly "reconstructed" by AWeb, IBrowse and Voyager and the mobile version is ... ahem ... not that sophisticated ;-)

The "Quick Reply" is meant to be exactly that.  Minimal, type a message, hit submit and you're done.

To see the Smileys, make sure you have the "Advanced WYSIWYG editor" selected in your options, and use "Reply" instead.

Wayne

Ah yeah, I know about the smileys in the advanced editor, but seeing as I probably use at least one smiley per post, and most posts are just quick replies, I find it nice to have, especially seeing as some smileys are interpreted differently from forum to forum. See the attached grab from another forum - not too intrusive I would've thought.

OTOH, it may well be a big job to add it to vBulletin, I've never worked on it...
