Indivision AGA MK2 issue
« on: February 14, 2021, 10:02:26 PM »
Is there a dummies guide out there to setting up a indivision AGA MK2?

I’m pissing in the wind with trying to get this thing working properly ( pardon my French)

I currently have a NEC MultiSync LCD2070WNX - LCD which supports resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz.

Firstly when I go into prefs/ screenmode I have the latest HighGXF from aminet installed so I get HD720 and Superplus etc... which resolution do I need to select? Also do I need to touch this if I am configuring the resolution through the indivision config.

Also if I select 1024 x 768 in HighGFX the indivision config it comes up all squashed.

Ideally I would like a full screen workbench display and a decent resolution to play games on.

Many thanks

Do you get a good picture with 640x400 scaled up?

It looks okay, but I would like to get a sharper resolution with this monitor. Is it possible? Like 1280 x 1024

I would like the games to run at 800 x 600

Larger maybe, sharper no. You can only magnify and smooth a pixel so much! The output of the scandoubler is a reflection of what the amiga can output, you can't create more pixels from nothing. now you want to magnify them by 8, that means 8 times "fuzzier".

What settings do I  need to have set in Prefs screenmode and the Indivision config?

Do they both need to be the same?

What is my ideal resolution to run my Workbench in on my monitor? I would like it to be full screen with no black borders if possible

(NEC MultiSync LCD2070WNX - LCD which supports resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz.)

Also am I best to stay with DVI over VGA?

How can I make my 800 x 600 resolution in the attached image look less squashed?

Check the aspect ratio settings in your monitor to see if you can set it to 4:3

there is no option for that.

When I reboot the amiga the Indivision Logo appears on the screen saying 640 x 480 PAL 60Hz

When workbench loads up is 800 x 600 HIGHGFX

Both resolutions have thick black border

Where am I going wrong?? last time i looked 800 x 600 didn't look stretched

Doesn't look standard to me, is there a stretch to fit button on there?

That IS odd, What is the make and model of that monitor? Something is going on in there, auto upscale or something. Maybe it can be changed somehow.

In the monitor's user manual you can read about the OSM menu.

There is a Tools menu with an Expansion item. This can be set to Full, Aspect or Off.

Try the Full option.

Best regards,

Niels

Thanks Niels but that hasn't really helped - the default area isn't expanding to the outer black lines - its still displaying as wide screen

Its currently connected via a VGA adapter

The best full screen resolution I can get on the monitor is 640 x 512 for workbench. - this is currently set as PAL:High Res Laced - surely it should be able to give me a better full screen resolution than this?

I have decide to go with a DVI connection from the Amiga to the monitor and it’s made no difference

I have opened up the indivision software and done a reflash all.

Also gone into screenmode preferences done a reset to defaults.

Is there a way I can completely remove all the indivision software off my HDD and install it again?
