Amiga Forever 2005 - IT LIVES!!!
« on: August 30, 2005, 05:56:33 PM »
Just downloaded AF2005 after being sent a link and a message
that due to production problems the DVD's and CD-ROM's would
not be ready for perhaps another few days or weeks.

This is the first time I have visited Amiga.org with an Amiga
browser in many years and the first time from an Amiga browser
via AF/WinUAE.

I've come full circle now I think.  My 12 year old son is going
to have a lot of fun on this new computer of his
(if he can get me off of it).

Of course he is more interested in newer PC games or his Playstation,
but I am still going to encourage him to look at the cool Amiga
stuff from the past and tell him the stories.

Ars Technica Budget Gaming machine guide

MSI K8N Neo4-F Motherboard
512mb RAM (more later)
Gigabyte Ati 800xl 256mb PCI express video card
80gb SATA 7200rpm hd
Sony DVD/CD-RW
Xoxide.com windowed case w/blue cathode lights
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

A big pat on the back to Cloanto for their honesty in advising customers of their problems with the manufacture of the Amiga Forever 2005 discs and by making the software available for download whilst the problems are being resolved. Obviously this is at a cost to Cloanto but rather than winge and moan and pass the cost on to the customer they have bit the bullet and delivered !! Nice to hear how Amiga Forever is also bringing newcomers to experience the Amiga even in an emulated format.
