On a similar note... Remember back in the days when ASL requesters sucked and Reqtool came to rescue with RTpatch? At some point ASL overtook Reqtools and it would be really nice with an aslpatch that hijacks all calls to reqtools et al.

AmigaOS - Where fantasy becomes reality...

Haven't tried it personally, but author assures us it can do this. I'm happy to use asl and reqtools though. There's prefs programs available for both too. The only one that I have had patched in the past are those prehistoric arp requesters! :laugh1:

Hey, thanks! I have previously looked at it, but only read enough to see it could replace rtpatch, not that it actually can work the other way around. Great! :)

You could contribute to OpenReaction instead of spewing bs about AROS every chance you get.   It's fine if you don't want to but either put up or shut up. =]

Pointing out that it is missing functionality = "spewing bs"!? I don't think so.

It's not my job to fix every problem in AROS. If the goal of AROS becomes full OS3.9 compatibility, I might consider working towards that end. According to http://aros.sourceforge.net/introduction/index.php it's still just targeting OS3.1, and I have no interest in such an obsolete version.

Previously I have decompiled bitmap.image (http://amigan.1emu.net/aw/bitmap.image-src.lha). I am happy for any AROS developer to make use of it. Obviously it can't be incorporated as-is directly into AROS as it would require significant modification or rewriting to be non-infringing of H&P's copyright.

If Reaction provided anything of interest there'd have been work on implementing something compatible. It doesnt, so there's been next to nothing done. Simple.

Also, and this has been pointed out many, many times despite being obvious to anyone with the ability to think for themselves "compatible" doesnt mean restricted to.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

To be honest, the lack of Reaction in AROS is rather a plus in my book, I would love to get rid of Reaction in OS3.9 as well. And I suppose that Cloanto agrees with me on that one :)
