Well, I'm also developing a game project, being isometric 3D strategy game, more info on that when I make some significant progress...

And yes, I think, it might work well on PDA's and such, graphics engine should be(come) relatively easily scalable to any resolution...

Ok... So I have a few questions concerning the games
you need:

 1) What "quality" do you require ?
I mean: I can create games but no games of a
commercial quality I'm afraid ;) (at least not as good
as Ben Yoris's new Studio will do ;))
But I can create/port games... So just tell me:
If you don't want such high quality games, I
can make it... if you need high (ie.: commercial)
      quality games, I won't do it ;=)

 2) If I have understand correctly, these games are
targeted to the new STB/TNT market: so the
     screen shoudn't exceed 640x480 ?

 3) Should the game work on full-screen or window
      mode ?

 4) Do you have some game types preferences ? ;)
(I am working on a PuyoPuyo style game for the
GBA: I could work on the MorphOS version in
      parallel...)

Regards,
Leo.

Great Games!

Between, the responses here and the emails we have received in the last 12 hours we will get a mailing list started and begin to give this group access to information and some structure in which to move ahead.

If you want to be included send us an email.

Yeah, it looks like a setup to me. Like Genesi (or bbrv, whatever) told these guys to come and pretend to have just now heard of Genesi and it's need for software. I suspect that is the case. Get these old timer/famous Amigans to pledge seemingly spontaneous support in a public forum as if they had stumbled across the original post by accident and were so impressed by it that they just had to stp in and discuss themselves.

It's not a news post because then it would have to have a little more truth in execution.

I would have preferred this to be a discussion, rather than a "discussion". It's an advertisement in disguise.

Therefore the :-(.

Maybe so. But I'll tell you something.
When I was making the move to the other platforms to make games for them I had a plan to earn some money, experience and get back to the Amiga as fast as possible. I was preparing ideas, projects, asking a lot of people for the copyrights for their games. But as time passed I saw that nothing was changing on the "around Amiga" market. People were more and more divided, arguing about stupid things.

I've lost the sense of coming back.

And now this. This brought back the ideas. This seems to be what I've dreamed of in the first place - colaboration of several companies, working together on the platform they like/love/sympatise with.

Is this an advertisement? I guess so. But if I would post a thread on this forum, that "graphician for the newest 3D Strategy for Pegasos and AmigaOne needed" or "individualists - unite" and somebody would ask for more details - wouldn't this be an advertisement?
I would be obliged to give him these details therefore I would advertise my product (cheap). Don't you think?
As for the VIP's. Maybe they were asked to get back here and write something "for the public", I don't know. But hey, they are people. It was their decission to do it.

This is my point of view.

Hi weirdami!

Of course, it is an advertisement!  We thought the X-Files reference would clue everyone in.  Ask yourself what it is an advertisement for...  ;-)

Can you image three people with three groups/BUSINESSES standing behind them that could bring more initial credibity to the effort?

Since the first post we could add a twelve more -- each of which has developed their own games before and have the sources.   Cool, eh?!

This is what developing a successful platform is all about.  Technology is great, but what you can do with it is more important!

If the Pegasos and MorphOS is successful it will be because talented Developers became interested in the platform.  Games is one of the high cards in our hand and we intend to support and PLAY it.  :-D

Best regards,

R&B   :-)

I'd look at it more as a "press release", but in a different shape. It has the same purpose as press release (spreading corporate news to the public) but in the shape of a forum post.  ;-)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)
